WTF? German novels on ebay

I thought I have a look on Germany's ebay, mainly to find the novel tie-in they did for Never Say Never Again.

Bond books on Germany's ebay

Just look at the titles! Some great covers, but often wholly unrelated to the film! I mean, page 2 has Blofeld in the pts of DAF, for the book Dr No! Look at the movie tie in for OHMSS! A rare shot of Lazenby attempting to do sexual mischief at Piz Gloria to one of Blofeld's henchmen! Was that a cut scene! One has Bond in his Thunderbird from Dr No, but with a US high-street pasted in the background.

Almost worth taking up German for... I quite envy Bondtoys. -{

    I have a few Bond novels in German. One of my favourite covers is "Der Mann Mit Der Goldenen Colt" whose cover has a pic of Connery in YOLT (or perhaps I should say "Man Lebt Nur Zwiemal"). As with the films, a lot of the flavour is lost in translation.

    I think the original Dutch 'zwarte beertjes' covers are very classy. But the translation of some titels is odd to say the least. Goldfinger => De man met de gouden vingers (the man with the golden fingers) Thunderball => Kalm aan Mr Bond (take it easy Mr Bond, title of the first chapter)
