Has anyone thought of David Bowie doing a theme in the past? I've always felt he has the Bond voice.

    Bowie has many fans here and he has been suggested before as a possible Title
    artist.
    I wouldn't be his biggest fan But feel they could do far worse. And infact have done
    many times. :))

    Long time Bowie fan here. Would love for him to have written and performed a title song. I've long thought that The Man Who Sold The World would have been a very good Bond theme.

    Well, his Hearts Filthy Lesson was used for Seven, and very good too. Bowie could do a one-off track for Bond, rather than doing a big, heavy comeback album.

    Of course, Absolute Beginners could be a Bond track and a good title for CR too.

    Really ? I do hope that that is true...the last news on him was that he had definitely retired and was happy to be around whilst his daughter grows up....

    Oh hang on, not album, rehearsing for world tour. Even less likely frankly, if his health isn't great, but financial worries it says.

    I've probably been Bowie's biggest proponent here. It would be fantastic to hear him do a Bond theme. Glad to hear he's recording again, if true. He's my favourite solo artist.

    Love Bowie and have saw him live a couple of times and yes he would have done a great Bond theme,but the one artist I would have loved to do one was Nat King Cole.

    I fantasize an alternate 70s in which Moonraker was made in an off-kilter, Ziggy Stardust-meets-Labyrinth style in which Tim Curry plays Drax, while Bowie plays his insane musical henchman from outer space.

    Like pretty much everyone else, I think David Bowie would be a great choice.

    As an aside, my favorite Bowie albums are Lodger and Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).

    Also, it's worth mentioning that David Bowie was the first choice to play Max Zorin.

    Seems many AJBers love Bowie, But he leaves me cold. A couple of good songs
    over the years but too experemental at times for me. Although he couldn't be
    any worse than "Another way to die " :))

    Hahaha oh boy.... I do admit I enjoyed the song more than the movie.

    But I agree on Bowie being too experimental. Not sure if you've heard his new single, "Where Are We Now?" It sure seems experimental to me. Good point!

    Well, he was ciondsidered for thev role of Max orin in the film version of AVTAK, and I think he's suitably bizarre and in vogue to do the next James Bond themne song - they'll probably not go with him, though. Check out his early Deram albums from 1967 - chock full of plenty of weird stuff and bizarro.
