Yeah, the best thing that he's done was "We have all the time in the world" for OHMSS :#

Well he likes to blow his own trumpet.

Well Bondtoys it does sadly seem that in many regards you were right. I did temper my thoughts with the caveat that the guy was a hero and inspiration to me, hence probably not wanting to see the truth. I'm sure that I'm not the only one in that regard.

However I still stand by a few things, particularly this cringeworthy love-in that is going on re: Tyler Hamilton. He's no better than Armstrong and yet is now being viewed (particularly in the media) as some sort of god-send now for publishing The Secret Race book.

Genuinely intrigued as to what this interview will reveal. I half suspect that he'll play Oprah like a puppet, but let's see hey.

Tyler Hamilton doped as well, but as far as I know, he's been threatened by Armstrong.

Armstrong in his active days started a war against the german media who where among the first stating that there clearly was something wrong. He treated them without any respect, accusing them to be greedy and clueless and having started a witchhunt against him and his team - and I for my part am happy, that now the truth turns up - piece by piece.

He was particularly nasty against a german tv journalist called Hajo Seppelt - a high-profile doping expert for the main german tv station.

What's really annoying for me is the fact, that he used a TV show for his coming-out and not an office of the USADA or a european newspaper.

That shows, that Armstrong is still trying to play puppet with everyone around him - I hope that he'll not succeed with that.

Tbh now the tinted specs are off, it's hard to know who or what to believe within professional cycling.

Agree with you regarding the using of TV rather than the correct / proper route for speaking. I'm sure there will be a few tears and he'll have Oprah in the palm of his hand.

For me it's the "dream" that has been destroyed (naff phrase, but the only way I could think of putting it tbh). So many people lived in this belief - due to the seriousness of the illness he had - yet all of this is now somewhat forgotten and I'm sure the charity is suffering as a result. Sad ain't the word.

Does anyone think its time to change the race name to 'Tour De Comédie' yet?

No surprise given recent events. The International Olympic Committee has confirmed that Lance Armstrong has been stripped of the Olympic bronze medal he won in the Sydney 2000 Olympic games. "We have written to Armstrong asking him to return the medal," an IOC spokesman said.

Anyone catch Part 1 of the interview? I saw some of it. He seems pretty unlikable with how little explanation he gives for his attacks and aggression that damaged other peoples lives and reputations.

The Part 2 episode I downloaded seemed to take a lot of clips from Part 1... was I the only one to see that?

The US Government has joined a lawsuit against Lance Armstrong after talks with his lawyers broke down. The suit argues Armstrong defrauded the public by insisting he was not using drugs while riding for the publicly funded US Postal Service team. Armstrong's legal team were unsuccessful in trying to convince the US Government not to join the so called 'whistleblowing' lawsuit filed by Floyd Landis, a former team mate who himself admitted using drugs throughout his career.
