Just got home from watching Total Recall (2012). There is a scene where Quaid is riding on the "Fall" (kind of like a train through the earth from London to Sydney), anyway, he is reading The Spy Who Loved Me while he travels! Awesome! I wonder if any other egle eyed 007 fans noticed this?
Total Recall - loved the original, and love the remake. Yet again, examples of action films borrowing from Bond all over the place. What do other fans think?

Oh come on, it's not that bad, it's ... different. I really enjoyed the book (I enjoyed the book more than the film of the same name).
He probably thought he was going to get an outrageous adventure about a supertanker that swallows submarines!
Firstly, I loved Total Recall (1990), had the video (oops, showing my age) for years and the download too. Was really execied when I saw they had remade it with the hottie who is Colin Farrell and I was suitably impressed. Love the references to the original such as the woman arriving at immigration and teling the guards she is staying "two weeks" etc....
As far as TSWLM is concerned, I agree the novel was "different" and an experiment for Fleming. However, the film version was AWESOME. My first ever Bond movie and so it ranks in my top three of all time.

I really enjoyed this remake...have always liked the original...but the special effects in this new version are superb...I thought this new version was well handled and that Kate Beckinsale was a class above... :x

What do you mean?
It was an inside joke to the Total Recall film itself referencing to the Melina character. I thought that was a nice touch.
I suppose it was more on the territory of a novella!
TSWLM is a raunchy Sex Novel, with the odd Punchup here and there.
