Well then... how about we turn this around? What do foxes do to other animals? Sweet little rabbits are routinely torn to shreds by foxes- not a fun way to go, I'm sure. So, the fox does not attack an equal, but an easy target. Foxes are bullies. So should we really even CARE about foxhunts? Payback's a bitch.*

I actually laughed out loud at that.
But seriously, it's a good point. If foxy woxy kills bunny wunny, it's nature, so is dog killing fox not also an act of nature?
At which point do you draw the line and start saying its un-natural? Can you even draw the line at all?

Well, I supose that with fox hunting its a human planned event - so it's using nature (i.e. dogs) to attack foxes, but the dogs would not go out and do this of their own accord - therefore the hunt is a construct!

From an extra terrestrial POV, anything that transpires on Earth is natural for Earth.
My cat tore the head off a young bunny & left it at my doorstep a couple of months ago. I kicked the cat (relax- not very hard) to discourage leaving presents, but it occurred to me that if one day I should find my cat torn apart on the lawn that although I'd miss her, I couldn't damn the animal who killed her; what comes around goes around.
It may be a construct, but hounds do have a natural instinct to chase etc, I think most dogs do.
Hounds though, bless them, are immensely stupid. When a hound has passed it's best, they're usually shot, which many find barbaric. Trouble is, I don't think they can be house trained or are really suitable pets.
Anyways, that's going a bit sideways.
What are people's views on drag hunting?
And that's not chasing a rather manly looking girl by the way.

That's natural, survival for food. We don't need to hunt foxes to survive. We don't even eat them. And the dogs certainly get fed very well.

My Wife said to me "Why kick her (our cat)? It's natural for cats to kill prey."
I replied, "It's natural for me to kick predators leaving me unwanted carcasses."

Domestic cats don't need to hunt to survive. Besides they are not native to our eco-system or natural in any way, they are DOMESTIC cats. Bred for the pet trade. They've been bred and crossbred and biologically messed with by us.. Dogs also hunt, but domestic dogs don't go killing everything in sight. Domestic cats haven't been restricted as dogs are, they can wonder the streets and go all over the place causing devastation to the wildlife and pooing on peoples property. Dogs that do this are put down or shot. Domestic cats are a relatively new pet as far as humans are concerned and compared to dogs. Their numbers and instinct in an environment they don't belong to has resulted in common species like starling and house sparrow becoming increasingly rare. Not the only factor in that species decline, but it is a major one.

So, you're saying it's okay that I kicked my cat? ?:)

No, you have restraint and should have used it. Human evolution and progression can only move forward successfully if we move beyond instinct.
You should have seen that poor bunny!!! Is a little mono-pedal impact so bad? It's not like getting YOUR HEAD TORN OFF-!
I plead temporary insanity... :v
