Wow, I have a really hazy memory of seeing this movie on TV in mid Seventies (being a big Bond fan, Moore in particular at the time) and liking it... now being a fan of OHMSS, I wanted to see it so badly that I just purchased the DVD on eBay (pan & scan, ewwwwue) just to check it out once again.
Will I like it? Four days time will tell.

In the mean time, anyone here have any reviews or thoughts on this movie to share?
(no spoilers please)
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

A few years ago DVDs of 'Gold' were given away free with The Mail on Sunday in the UK and I got one of those copies (in anamorphic widescreen!) I enjoyed the film as a bit of light entertainment. Moore was good, and I thought he had good chemistry with his co-star Susannah York. Some great supporting actors too - John Gielgud, Bradford Dillman and Simon Sabela (as a South African, I think its great to see a nice role for a black South African actor in an old film).

Of course, it is directed by Peter Hunt, and it has a Maurice Binder title sequence! Lots for the Bond fan to enjoy here!

Haven't seen it in years. Roger Moore plays it straight with little comedy.
It's got a good story and Cast. Might be a little dated by todays standards.
If only Moore had played Bond more like the Movies he did ouside the series.
as in The wild geese & Gold.

It's a poor man's Wild Geese, but not too bad. I think Moore is one of those actors, like Hugh Grant, who has a hollow centre and needs other people to support him and bring out the best in him. He's okay in it but a bit bland. Young looking, he looks his best in this film actually, unlike in TMWTGG where he seems very smug for much of it. Hunt should have directed that one really, would have given it a harder edge, though of course he'd have been damned in the public eye for doing two 'failed' Bond films then...

A sexy bathroom scene with Miss York.

I too got the Mail on Sunday version. :)
