Whatever you're gonna do I wish you'd get on and do it.
What's happened to you, Mr Grump?
Thought we were friends and all that...no need to fall out over a little bit of CBn bashing!
Sorry old bean, was having a salmon day.
That's fine mate. We all have more of thiose than the salad (days) variety!

I think that the Literary section needs a revamp here - I've managed to bring out of lit Bond members to show you all that they do in fact exist! Would be nice to see this section of AJB expand and develop over the years and I'd gladly head this project - let's make it another reason why James Bond fans come to AJB besides the films and collecting/memorabilia!

I think that if anyone wants to see any area of AJB grow, then they have to do the work.
I don't think the Mods can do anything to make any specific area more popular, and I guess it's down to the members 'voting with their feet' as it were to make an area more popular.
Take props for instance, since FE's arrival, we've had a massive reduction in people showing off their amazing work, and an increase in official merchandise and even more so with clothing.
I'd like to see more props like we used to have, which is why I've tried to keep things alive by donating items for competitions etc. it doesn't seem to have done much as far as a constant interest goes, but when a competition is run, it usually gets some attention.
At the end of it, people loose sight of the fact that its not 'their' forum, it's OURS, without our input, the forum would die.

Well, this is what I have been in the very process of doing with many of my posts and topics in the Literary James Bond "specialist!" forums here on the great AJB. I want to make this forum (where Skyfall almost has the same number of topics posted, almoast unbelievably!) another reason for why Bond fans come to AJB. It is what I continue to do - to raise awareness of the original Fleming novels and their continuations...Thius is why I seek most sincerely the moderation/presidency of this section. I may yet win you all over on this one yet! -{

I think becoming a mod is ultimately down to Si who's either too busy, not interested or a mix of both to be around as much as some would like. Nothing against the guy, we all have lives outside of AJB, but he's the only one who's gonna promote you. You get asked, it's not up to a vote etc.
I'd suggest you just continue to encourage conversation in the lit forum and see how it goes.

Yes, well, that's what I'll do then. Pity SiCo isn't around too often - perhaps he will return, more elusive than the Scarlet Pimpernel himself!

I've only been here for a short while but I don't see what the OP is talking about. This is one of the more respectful and friendliest forums I've been on.
1: Casino Royale 2: Goldeneye 3: Skyfall 4: Octopussy 5: Goldfinger 6: Tomorrow Never Dies 7: The World Is Not Enough 8: The Living Daylights 9: From Russia With Love 10: The Spy Who Loved Me

I'm checking out for a while - I want to concentrate on my The Bondologist Blog.
I may return here or I may not.
I prefer CBn to AJB.
I've had my fill of this place. It's clearly not been designed with literary James Bond fans in mind!
It's been an experience.
Goodbye.
As for you being a mod:
If I remember correctly, You have been the one stating some months ago, how great and better CBN was compared to AJB, I'd say that this lowered your chances dramatically to become a mod

Well, we can all be wrong at times, can't we. I've admitted HOW VERY WRONG I was about AJB and CBn. I'm a big defender/fan of AJB - it is indeed THE VERY BEST James Bond forum online - posts answered quickly, threads respected, friendliness, great moderators etc.
My self-appointed candidacy for the overseer of the Literary James Bond sub-forum still stands - I'd love to help AJB out and get more people coming here for the Literary Bond forums as well as those many people that come here for the collecting and film forums.

And there goes the "self promotion" 8-)
I was just pointing it out as always shaken and I seem to have similar interests. I thought you were OK with The Bondologist Blog? Sorry if I caused offence. I will keep quiet about the blog from here on in!

I'm cool with your blog, that's why its in your sig...but it does niggle quite a few that you seem to reference it every second post...

Hehehehe, I've read this daft thread through and it seems Bondtoys has more chance of becoming a mod. Actively seeking something for ones own agenda never gets you anywhere. The only agenda Bondtoys has that I know of, is to kill a mole. And he's crap at that.
As for speculations about me getting a mod: I know exactly who will be banned at first after coming back after years and only posting crap - obviously still under the influence of snake poinson :v
And pretty obviously, I am much better to communicating with the ladies - remember the last time that you slapped into the poo - good old times!

Yes, sorry. I only scan read that! Now I see what youy mean! How ironic! You couldn't write it, you really couldn't! )
Sorry for my (shameless?) blog promotion - I will knock that on the head as of now. I really appreciate your moderation and support and respect you very much, Sir Miles. You know that. Whatever was said in the past re CBn and AJB is water under the bridge. I was wrong, you AJB'ers were right - I've already said all that - it's in the Hansard if you will.
Anyway, sorry to anyone offended with this self-righteous thread or who've made complaints re the blog promotion (see how I worked that in, there? )
