  Yep, I'm of that age! I remember John Brosnan's reviews & features fondly. He had little time for Moore if memory serves, though he did warm to A VIEW TO A KILL. That may have had more to do with its inclusion of one of Brosnan's beloved airships, though.
  
  Remember his review of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY? He thought it was lacklustre compared to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK & SUPERMAN II. He had a point, especially with regard to the more rousing RAIDERS.

  He did a sort of potted review/history of the films in one feature, placing them in order. Of course it was a summary of his James Bond in the Cinema book, a fantastic read. I don't quite remember his FYEO review; he did tend to slag off the films more progressively, believing the benchmark was Goldfinger. I think he said that actually, rather than going back to FRWL in style as had been claimed, FYEO only really reverted to LALD in terms of excess, a fair point given the outrageous ski down-a-bobrun stunt work.
  
  But he gave too kind a review to NSNA, cos like many critics he's championed Connery as the better Bond and didn't want to have egg on his face, presumably. His review of LTK was good, comparing it unfavourably to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, saying it had no ironic admission of its aburdities. His review of GE (maybe his last?) was more selective, based around the too realistic origins of Trevelyan's villainy and a massacre in World War II.
