think this should be in the collecting sub-forum mate.

as for the knife, its gonna be pretty hard to identify it from the blade shape alone. unless we know of a brand associated with the film?

It looks like a Fallkniven blade. But the angle isn't too good to ID positively

For me it doesn't look F1, more like Böker magnum (Tracker or Pathfinder FG) :s

EDIT: Sigh, then again Asp9mm might be correct, as it could be Fällkniven HK9 ?:) Hard to tell from that angle.... :#

Fallkniven is of cource a brand name, but it's also Swedish for "The folding knife". The pictures are interesting, I haven't seen them before. Is Kincade a relative of Bond or some kind of warden at Skyfall Lodge?
  • MANDY1MANDY1 TISPosts: 2,608MI6 Agent
I'm pretty certain it ain't a folding knife, you can basically tell it from the pic...it's a hunter :D

We need a better image.. It's pretty impossible to get it from those. It could even be a RAT RC-5.

Looks like any old "Bushcraft" Knife. It can be even one of the Bear Grylls line of knifes: http://www.gerbergear.com/Survival/Knives/Ultimate-Fine-Edge-Knife_31-001063

Nah, if Bond was going to get a bushcraft knife, he'd choose the Deval Bushcrafter. It's the only one that oozes class and sophistication.

I've heard that Deval Bushcrafters are only butterknifes.

    I'd go for a better make :v

Might be nice to see Bond dispatch the lead villain with a knife; I don't believe we've ever seen that have we?

    Now there's a joke!

As a Finn I'll only trust survival in wilderness to a Scandi blade, and the one that has both traditional Scandinavian blade profile, as well as design and materials that cater to the "quality conscious" international crowd is Enzo!

Oh I have no affiliation, except as a proud owner of some of their products.

Enzo :o Pah, cheap mass produced stuff. A quality Sheffield handmade bespoke knife is called for as far as Bond is concerned ;) A scandi grind is great for carving and woodwork, but it isn't very strong for other tasks and is easily chipped though.

Of course, the chap that helped design the Trapper is a pretty splendid fella :v And Enzo do make some nice knives.

Well yeah, as a fighting knife it is superb, and a Bond classic. Pretty naff as an outdoors/hunting/utility knife though.

No, we haven't, the main villian has been killed off with a knife but not by Bond, by Columbo in FYEO. That would be nice to see, or maybe Silva could be drowned in a loch in Scotland, Bond pinning his head under the water as he struggles with his arms like a wild animal

Oh, and knife is a tool, so yes when there is a chance that I'll abuse or loose a knife, I prefer cheap (relatively).

Also I don't believe in these super tough / hard and expensive super steels. Give me blacksmith made carbon steel puukko, and I'll be confident to perform any task.

BTW: it could also be this: http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Legend-by-Marcus-Lin-Custom-Alliance-16-Sold-Out/productinfo/WTK-MLLEGEND/

I like RWL-34 as it is the closest to 01 but without the need for as much attention. As I'm in and around salt water a lot, it made more sense to use RWL on the DB. You can't beat the patina and character that tool steel develops through use though.

I used to edc Fällkniven U2, but found it a bit small and pain in the donkey to sharpen. Switched to a tenacious, don't quite yet know what to think about it. And then there is my beloved Opinel carbon folder. Just love it, although I don't carry it as much.

My puukko that I usually carry when in a need of a fixed blade was made by a chap in country, don't now what carbon steel it is, takes a wicked edge very easily, needs re sharpening after any significant use, rusts if not oiled. Blacksmith forged blade, waxed birch handle of perfect shape and proportion. Truly an extension of my hand. Had it 20 years now, and even though I have plenty of other knives and puukko, it's my go-to favorite. A true scandi grind (and therefore I will not be cutting any heavy bone with it ;) )

Fällkniven makes sense to me, one of the top brands of high quality knives in the world. Also used by military.
You know in America it’s “bling, bling”, but out here it’s “bling, bang”.

    Hi guys,
The knife is a fixed blade Damascus knife custom made by my friends company here in the states. They supplied it for the film.
As they are hoping to release copies I cannot show photos but at least I can save you countless hours of searching for it on the internet.

Damascas is just a name given to a steel forged by pattern welding. One of my own knives is made from it...
