Connery Bond: "I shan't ask politely next time."
Lazenby Bond: "You never asked that of the other fellow..."
Moore Bond: "Am I taxing your professional abilities?"
Dalton Bond: "Just pour the damned drink."
Brosnan Bond: "Indulge me, my good man."
Craig Bond: *Steel hard glare*

I winced when I heard that line for the first time. I guess it is them showing bond slowly turn into the suave agent he is known for.

True that they're showing Bond in his early years, but I always took this remark more so as a response to his anger in that he just "lost" to Le Chiffre. He's extremely upset and just wants a drink. A pretty natural reaction.

Boothroyd, you are 100% correct in your assessment of the line in my opinion. Get me drink, and get me one now. In fact, I believe this is something Flemmings Bond would have done as well.
