Skyfall....A Personal View...With NO Spoliers...

NO SPOILERS AS REQUESTED BY THE MANAGEMENT.
At just over 2 hours & 20 minutes Skyfall grabs you from the moment the lights go down in the auditorium much as Casino Royale did back in 2006 & Quantum failed to back in 2008.
The story & therefore the script is intelligent & moves along at quite a fast pace but stops to gather its breath with some great nostalgic set pieces giving a playful wink to Bonds past. The characters are fully developed within their own storylines. The Playful banter between Bond and his Quartermaster has undertones of those previously experienced between Pierce & Desmond. There is action, comedic elements & outright shock elements which make this a better Bond than Casino Royale which I did not think was possible and as many have previously suggested Skyfall may just be the greatest Bond movie to date & possibly ever? as this 50th Anniversary movie is a fitting tribute to Cubby Broccoli & Harry Saltzman. One of the best lines was delivered by Dame Judi Dench's "M". Bond 24 will really have to be someting special to surpass this fantastic movie. Simply put Skyfall works, even Adele's dulcet tones work with the incredible Daniel Kleinman titles as Adele sings it that "it" appears before your eyes on the silver screen....SKYFALL....DONE!

Friends in very cool places
I was extremely fortunate to see SF today, and I agree totally with donk's review.
I just cannot wait until it comes out on DVD

I wonder if it can top GE, which IMO has not been topped by any films that followed it

Maybe this should go in the controversial comments thread, but I'm loyal to my fave film (GE) and I'd say SF is up there, but not beating GE..... yet.
Once I've seen it a few times though, I might change my mind. )

Hope you all had a nice time… I know you passion for GE – so that is a massive compliment… if you should compare to a previous Bond movie what would you select…
And you should post photos from the event…

There are no photos mate as cameras weren't allowed.
As for comparing SF to anything before, that's a tricky one. I'd say there isn't anything like it that we've seen before.

That would be a spoiler & EON have been very clear on this one...reveal any details prior to the 26th & the Associate Producer will cut off your gentlemans vegetables!
If EoN are so strict on the spoilers I wonder if the reviwers who mentioned ot are lying? At least one of us here knows! :007)

As for Skyfall itself...I agree to a certain extent with ppw3o6r...but not entirely...
There is no doubt that Skyfall is one of the best Bond movies ever made and that Eon have thrown everything at this movie that they possibly could...there is something for every Bond fan in this one....realism - check....funny one-liners - check....beautiful women - check...superb action scenes - check...but I have to give the real credit to both the script and the acting....a film can only be as strong as the script from which it is based...and this is a great script...well plotted and the dialogue is some of the best from ANY film....where Eon have truly excelled is with the cast....Javier Bardem is simply superb...I read a review where it was said he 'channelled the spirit of Heath Ledger's Joker'...and that is spot on...but he does make Silva his own creation - and a villian straight from the books of Ian Fleming...Judi Dench gives her best performance as M, but she is helped by the fantastic script which gives her plenty to get her teeth into....Albert Finney just oozes class, his performance is pitched to perfection - and he gets one of the best laughs in the film (possibly my fav line in the film)....Ralph Fiennes is suitably gruff/tough as Mallory...with such a strong cast, Craig has a job keeping up with them, but this he manages to do and is equally convincing with the different facets of Bond's character shown here...
Danny Klienman also deserves a special mention for producing a superior title sequence that perfectly compliments Adele's song -{
Is Skyfall the best Bond film ever made ? I don't think it is but it pushes the others damn close...I have two minor gripes with the film...the first being that I would have cut a couple of the 'one-liners' from the film - I just think a couple of them detract from the tense nature of the scenes they are in - but that is purely MY view...I'm sure most will be more than happy to see these lines stay in the film...my biggest gripe with Skyfall ? At 2hrs 20mins it's about 30 mins too SHORT !!! Actually I would prefer another 60 mins to fully develop this wonderful script...
There is no doubt that Eon have smashed this one 'out of the park'....and they REALLY have a problem on their hands to follow this one up )

Sounds like a good idea....
...if ppw3o6r has no objections how about we keep this one as the NO SPOILERS thread..?...
As for a SPOLIERS thread...I'll open that one AFTER the movie has been officially released in the UK....unless I'm advised otherwise -{
[Edit: and it would seem that a couple of people have seen the advanced screenings already ... now where's that envious smily]
Look forward to more spolier free reviews!
Which is why this is the NO SPOILERS thread....
As an extra about the gunbarrel....I'm not going to say where it is in the movie...but once you have seen the gunbarrel then you should instantly recognise why it's placed where it is
Golly, you guys must have friends in high placests...
-Casino Royale, Ian Fleming
I have...and I feel very lucky to have done so...I wrote a non-spoiler review on page one of this thread...
Friends in high places...?...he's probably the most genuine guy I've ever met...and generous to a fault -{
