Name YOUR hero?

I'm currently finishing off the first draft of my first novel. However, I am already planning and plotting out an idea for my next book which will introduce a hero inspired by Bond/Bourne/John Drake kind of character. I already have the name, but just interested to see what would others choose if they had the choice too? Have to admit the initial of my character's surname is 'B' in recognition to Bond and Bourne. :007)
"Thank you very much. I was just out walking my RAT and seem to have lost my way... "

Well one of my favourite hero characters is called Jack Reacher... and the writer got this name from the fact he's very tall... and was in the supermarket, and someone asked him to reach something from the top shelf.... when he complied, apparently she said, "Oh thank you, you make a great reacher" and he then used that name as his character....

'Blackwood' would be a good strong surname... or 'Breach' - why not look for inspiration, like Fleming did himself... and look at other authors... or writers.

The only things I've ever heard about Jack Reacher were comments involving him being tall.

Due to that characteristic being so frequently mentioned, I'm not surprised by the puzzlement that casting Tom Cruise has caused for fans. One of the most famously short leading men is playing a notably tall man.

Yes, Mr Beech, it has caused some huge controversy.... Jack Reacher is 6'5 - and a lot of his character traits are derived from his height. The fact that Mr Shrimpy bought the rights to the Movies has outraged fans... and most are not seeing the movie.
(Saw a trailer for it, when I saw Skyfall... and it looks cr@p - shame really, as the books are brilliant!)
