Just looked on the QDT site ........ that 269 cutaway is very nice -{
In the black and white pic of all the parts shows an oversize mould of the top half of the Lotus, I was at an auction about 20 years when an identical one in blue resin was up for sale, sadly I did not go for it wish I had know
Original 1965 store window poster for the Corgi 261 James Bond Aston Martin DB5. You wait years to source a 261 retailer display stand then along comes the same artwork on a poster just a few weeks later!
Not the usual ex-shop stock condition but almost impossible to find unused. Next stop linen backing and bleaching for posterity. It will be interesting to see the "Before" and "After" images -{
1968, 45 years young, factory fresh retail display card for the fabulous Corgi 270 James Bond Aston Martin DB5.
Very nice -{ well done, another superb item.
Do you have the Toyota display card?
A BEAUTY were they only used on the UK market in the sixties ?
kind of stuff that never turns up over here in Belgium
seen one only once before and that was in a die hard corgi collector's collection, alongside the 007 Toyota and the Avengers one .... i was drooling in front of his display .... i asked nicely and politely if he did not want to sell them ... strangely i received a negative answer LOL
Original 1965 store window poster for the Corgi 261 James Bond Aston Martin DB5.
I am so envious!
While I find the illustration of the 270 DB5 much better than this one (this looks more like a VW 1600 TL fastback with a DB5 grille - something our "DB5 replica" guys should try )) but the complete poster with its layout, fonts and older Corgi logo is so perfectly sixties it's a dream.
A BEAUTY were they only used on the UK market in the sixties ?
I don't know for the DB5 and Toyota but the poster for the DAF Mustang and Moon Buggy was also printed in other languages - I have seen French and German.
Original 1965 AML leaflet on the Top Secret Specification of the James Bond Aston Martin. Printed probably in their thousands to meet the demands of eager school boys and girls for information on the even then classic Bond Mobile. Measuring just 10" by 8" when opened out (two leaflets shown) the leaflet is a fine example of merchandising from the birth of Bondmania -{
The leaflet shown here is identical to the one illustrated in Dave Worrall's The Most Famous Car in the World however for completists there is a variant leaflet (of course there is!). Printed on a slightly thicker stock and being cut perhaps 1 to 2mm larger (probably hand guillotined back then?) , the DB5 has slightly more tarmac present & a slightly fuller boarder bottom right around the "Top Secret" stamp on the cover.

Did you do the colouring in donk? Good effort this time!
Created by the late great John Stears for actor Robert Shaw's character Red Grant in 1962's classic From Russia with Love and seen here together on AJB for the first time. They were originally to debut at The Barbican's Designing 007 exhibition but as the exhibition became less prop and more costume orientated their inclusion in "Q-Branch" was dropped at the zero hour..Quote "We have a number of great exhibits we also did not have room for". Their loss as the props were to be bequeathed to The Archive for future generations to enjoy at the end of the exhibition's 3 year run or my passing (whichever came sooner!)
It is unknown if Mr Shaw used either prop on screen however the Mauser Broomhandle was used as a rack gun at the SPECTRE training camp and the PPK is believed to have been used in the Orient Express fight sequence shot at Pinewood and was further used as a fight or drop-gun in Thunderball although regrettably NOT by Mr Connery. If the Knight of the Realm knows otherwise? please please let me know
The Mauser which was originally 2 separate props went on to be used but not seen in the weapons tray of BMT 216A in Goldfinger & was further utilised in the Goldfinger & Thunderball tour cars of 64-65 before being returned to Pinewood Studios where an unknown hand glued the 2 props together before the Mauser took up residence in Sir Ken Adam's office. It can be seen in a very famous black & white plate of Mr Adam designing, surrounded by Bondian artefacts. The Mauser is far left in the image on the window ledge.
Both props are composed of a black brittle glass like material which chips very easily, are cracked to buggery and have both received major damage at some point in time, in particular the Mauser's trigger & the PPK's hammer which may have been cast in the cocked or uncocked position? as both can be seen in the fight sequence. I was told by someone at Pinewood who is regrettably no longer with us and who informed me of the existence of the prop and perhaps where to search for it, when the PPK is completely out of focus in the sequence but is glossy in appearance it is this one.
It never ceases to amaze me the amount of missed opportunities I hear about concerning EoN and other official producers of Bondian items.
To the bizarre choice of stuff for RM's Bond on Bond book, EoN declining your more than generous offer, and other TV shows and interviewers completely missing the rare cool stuff and centring on the run of the mill stuff like corgi's and parker ballpoints.
Anyways, at least us true fans can appreciate the rarity and uniqueness of yours, and others collections here on AJB.
Anything to show from the Brossa era other than that manky assault vest?
Created by the late great John Stears for the 1967 classic You Only Live Twice. One of only two SFX "Firing" Gyrojet rifles known to still exist and the most complete. Can be seen in the assault on Blofeld's Volcano base of operations shot at Pinewood Studios when two Ninja extras fire the weapons, one appears to close his eyes as he presses the charge button mounted on the lower trigger guard which like turning on a light switch completes the circuit which ignites the charge. Having fired the weapon myself using an external power source as the Eveready cells sealed inside the stock have long since dried up, I can fully understand why he did. The rifle is composed of a black brittle material with a similar composition to glass. The blast chamber which has a flip open top which encases the pyrotechnic charge is composed of steel and is ventilated on both sides to enhance the flash.
The weapon was to be exhibited at The Barbican Designing 007 exhibition in the "Q-Branch" exhibit..

Truly amazing stuff
You REALLY don't this stuff everyday....unless you are Donk of course )
Goldeneye "Prologue" Walther PPK. Pierce's hero PPK used in his first Prologue sequence. The pistol was also used to cast the stuntguns utilised in the whole of the pre-titles sequence (in Pierce's manky assault vest!) and the majority of Pierce's photo-shoots.
Full well knowing the answer by now I did not offer it to EON for the Designing 007 exhibit however they did exhibit one of the resin silenced PPK stunt guns which were originally cast from it -{
And yes that is an Artist Proof HAC "Bond Prologue" senigraph which has been mullered to display it!
Resin stunt Goldeneye PPK exhibited at Designing 007.

Is that also made of Resin/Fibreglass? (or whatever they used). It looks like a gyrojet hand gun with a stock and forestock added to it (not that I know a lot about firearms).
Thanks for sharing these wonderful gems, well done, do you have anything from Thunderball?
Hi AA. Yes made of the identical brittle material as the two From Russia with Love props. Kind of surprised it did not disintegrate when fired! Regrettably nothing from Thunderball (apart from the PPK drop gun of course)
