And here's one for MICROJIFF, I'll probably get my ass kicked for this but hey it's almost Chrimbo
One of three screen used weapons, the other two being safely under lock & key with the Bond production company, Moon's Tankbuster from Bond's 40th Anniversary outing Die Another Day, was based on Heckler & Koch's XM-29 OICW (Objective Individual Combat Weapon). Created by genius armourer C.S. who also created Brosnan's folding Sterling AR180 carbine from the Tomorrow Never Dies pre-titles sequence and based on an H&K G36 rifle, Moons Tankbuster actually worked. CS had created a selector lever in the base of the weapons casing where either the G36 or custom cannon or 9mm Micro Uzi pistol mounted above the rifle within the casing (2 different Tankbusters with different cannon units) could be fired by the G36's trigger....this is sheer bloody brilliance -{
This particular example, TB-3, was cast off the hero top casing with the Cigar Girl's H&K G36 rifle from The World is Not Enough being replaced with one of the rubber stunt H&K G36 rifles from Tomb Raider. It was utilised whenever the weapon did not physically need to fire as the hero weapon which contained two firearms was no lightweight!
For Bond's 40th Anniversary outing Die Another Day, the Quartermaster (John Cleese...Give me strength!) issues Brosnan's Bond a kitted out Aston Martin Vanquish "the Vanish". To counter this firepower the villain of the piece Zao has a kitted out Jaguar XKR whose armaments/toys included a GE (General Electric) M134 7.62 mm Minigun (Gatling gun) which is capable of firing 4000 rounds per minute (5 non-firing resin M134's were created by Nick Finlayson's team, this being one of the 5 were fitted to the stunt XKR's)...Big innit? -{
Was it fitted to one of the promotional XKR's that went on display in Jaguar Dealerships and also used for local charity premieres?
No, it came straight off the XKR that flipped into the ice in Grave's ice palace at Pinewood which pretty much snapped it in half. It was also used in Iceland. There were 5 XKRs fitted with the resin Gatling guns & one fitted with the real puppy modified to discharge blank cartridges. Most of the time when there was a close up of Rick Yune (Zao) it was the hero weapon in picture -{
Die Another Day pre-titles sequence Cobray Ingram M10 machine pistol. This imitation firearm was created for Pierce Brosnan's Bond for use during the hovercraft chase sequence. Pierce used a practical weapon modified to discharge blank cartridges on full auto fire for the entire sequence however he discards the weapon when it appears to run dry & for these few seconds he utilised this accurised stunt machine pistol which is pretty much indistinguishable from the weapon it was cast off. Composed of rubber and aluminium & finished with a blued effect. It was then engrained with dirt which is still there to this day. The detail on the prop is simply amazing for a few seconds of screen time. Bond 20 was the last 007 movie where crew souvenirs of this quality and type were permitted or to be more exact were tolerated by the Bond production company -{
Created by genius leather-smith "BS" for Pierce Brosnan's James Bond on his OTT, swan song & 40th Anniversary outing Die Another Day. Utilised in the Virtual Reality sequence & the "hit yer man sausage with a sledge hammer" Miranda "Slurpy" Frost Ice Palace sequence. One of two custom holsters created for Pierce on Bond 20. This particular example was very kindly purchased at the 2006 Guns of James Bond auction at Christies in London by ke02eww on my behalf . BS created an identical holster without the waist band clip and a vertical draw custom rig for Bond's P99 on The World is Not Enough. He also created the unseen custom PPK holsters on Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldeneye -{
