  I wish you well - try instead looking in the newspapers - The London Standard and the Internet. A bad time to lose your job (though there's never really a good one). Happy job hunting...Thursdays and Fridays are the main job days in the local and national press.

  It's surprising how many jobs there are. Don't get depressed. Obviously there are a lot of jobs that may not be in your very specific domain of expertise, whatever that is, but sometimes that can also be an opportunity. Don't give up, no worries. Also, it's a cautionary tale : when things are good, you need to put money aside for when things are bad.
