Casino Royale Cardigan??

Hello All,

I know this subject has been touched on before in previous threads, but I was wondering if anyone ended up figuring out what brand the shawl collar cardigan that was worn by Craig in the balcony scenes with Mathis was? I thought it could possibly be sunspel, but I don't think they have ever done shawl collar cardigans. Could it possibly be Turnbull and Asser or Ted Baker? I know Ted Baker has done some in the past and present and I am pretty sure T&A has too. Brioni maybe? I know I wouldn't be able to get the exact one because of how long ago this was, but any info on the brand would be great?

Thank You!

Tom Ford makes them and it's about £1000 they still make it but I think the buttons are different now

Tom Ford made the QoS cardi, not CR. the CR cardigan (or maybe cardigans) are rumored to be John Smedley or Ted Baker.

    News to me.

I had Smedley down for them, but never seen anything confirmed sadly.

I am pretty sure it is Ted Baker, as I have never seen (at least to my knowledge) John Smedley make a shawl collar cardigan, but Ted Baker still does even to this day. Could be wrong though. Was hoping that with all the talented bond sleuths on this site that someone would have confirmed something.

Haha, it is probably too late by now. I imagine too many years have passed. I was just stating that I was surprised no one had figued it out on here.

I agree, Smedley does not have a high output of models per season. If it was Smedley everybody would have seen it somewhere long the line. Ted Baker products have a vast and ever changing lineup so more likely (though of course it could be something totally different).

I would love it if we could set up an interview with people like Hemming, Frogley etc to finally put questions to bed such as this item and also the Montenegro Tie etc (I know its been said Brioni however other people say they saw it in Bakers lineup etc etc)

I'd love to know about the cardigan from the PTS in CR. The one under the peacoat.

If I remember (not 100%) he wore the same cardigan to a few CR Premiers, I believe the collar was unique hence you could tell it was the same as under the peacoat - however the make is another story!!!

Any mysteries in QoS?? I dont think there really is??? Were the Kazan leather gloves ever confirmed?

Wonder if the rectangle knit around the button holes is a regular feature with the "unknown" brand!

Certainly chunky as hell which rules out people like Smedley etc

I would hazard a guess that given the actors and producers penchant for Tom Ford, the balcony scene looks very much to me as the famous Tom Ford Shawl collar cardigan aka the "Steve McQueen" which made we saw again in QoS. The High colar cardigan, likened more to Count Dracula, I would also take a punt on being aTom Ford design. Just my thought.

Did Tom Ford have his own label back then??

Is there a possibility it could be Armani? They did supply a jacket for the film...

Wasn't it a Sunspel cardigan? I remember hearing that.

I bought a great alternative back in 2006 from the M&S website.
I wore it loads, with a white shirt of courtse and chinos.
Don't get to put it on that much these days...might wear it at Christrmas!

Some are saying the white and black crew necks at the end could have been by sunspel too
