    I like LTK. It was a great movie and brought me back to Bond after the comic period. I think it did the same for many people who liked the harder edged Bond of the books and early films.

    As you can tell from my posts, I think very highly of it as well. But I see where it may have been too intense for many at the time, and certainly a drop in box office reflected the need for a change, a change that Dalton was suggesting at the time. A lighter narrative touch and a Barry score would have easily reversed a downward trend IMO. In fact, as others have said, it might have been Tim's Skyfall!
