Where's MSN gone?

Dunno if I'm being incredulously thick here or not, but I can't find an official msn messenger app for the iPhone.
I used to have msn on my Iphone, and it started to go a bit crackers, crashing out and generally messing up. Foolishly I decided to delete and reinstall it in some vain attempt to fix the issues. So I got rid. Then when I searched for the msn app to reinstall, it's not there anymore.
There's msn from Phoemix mobile (who?), shanghai msn network (uh?) and 9thQ (eh?!) developers but nothing from Microsoft or the msn lot.
So what gives? Am I being stupid or have msn pulled out of iPhone?

Can't seem to find anything about it anywhere, it's like bill gates pulled the plug, leaving no trace whatsoever.

Found this. Seems Microsoft's purchase of Skype influenced its disappearance:

Ebay went crap cos people got greedy, a place to find rare items or bargains turned into rip off central.
YouTube went **** when google bought it out, now ads galore and annoying banners mean slow to load clips festooned with popups and more adverts. Thanks google.
Now MSN has pulled the plug, nice to see in that article that people were consulted. I wasn't, bastards.
Money money bloody money. The world really has gone to the greedy dogs.

Ain't used it in years, think Facebook, kinda killed it
Its annoying, Skype had some cool features like screenshare, now you have to pay (if you are prepared to) for them. Its a joke.
video calls
instant msg,s
phone calls to landlines
txts to mobile phones......... skype has everything, its 99% free, i txt my dad in the UK alot,, 5,6p per txt,, and i think 10p per min int call, you can have it on iphone app. i top up my credit via paypal, and every so oftern skype add free minutes to my credit,, its cheaper than contract phone,, cheaper than landlines,,
With only one Telecommunications company out here in the Falklands (Monopoly) it costs £1.20 to call UK or anywhere else for that matter hence Skype is essential for me and use it all the time!!
ide like to see more peple use it for as much as i do, and you probably.. maybe then phone co,s may start and realise,, they need to cut costs,, i always use skype, anywhere in the world on my iphone,, because i work in afghanistan i have a pay as you go phone,, £20 quid credit lasts me months lol..
Im on PAYG here, contracts are silly money. When I was in Hong Kong last month I paid around 10 quid for a week of unlimited 3G and it was fast as hell, here your talking silly money. As Internet is thru satellite (no line to mainland) they whack the prices up as an excuse. For home broadband I pay 100 for 3.5GB (limit). Shocking stuff, I pay prob more in one month then people pay in a year for unlimited lol. On the other hand we are VAT free so all swings and roundabouts
Skype here was getting blocked by the Tel company at one point. Everybody uses it here (the entire population). In the end they had to comply and unblock it due to such a public uproar, near rioting I tell you lol
To phone my bank in UK and be put on hold for 30 mins was practically 40 - 50 quid before Skype!
its blocked in dubai too, but ppl pay 2 quid a month i think to a sever and can then get it,, i stiil able to use it there,, just need wifi,,
