Grace Jones and Roger Moore?

I read online that Roger Moore didn't enjoy A View To A Kill for a number of reasons one of them being that he disliked Grace Jones which was surprising to me because I felt she did a good job with the role she was given and she added to the film.

But the point of this topic, what's the beef between the two? I've tried Google and that hasn't helped so i thought I'd bring it here because someone must know on this board.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he disliked her due to her playing loud music off-set in her trailer, but that was via another forum so I'd possibly take it with a pinch of salt. There does seem to be genuinely not much love lost though.

If you read the A View To A Kill pages in Moore's autobiography he talks about it. He does mention her playing loud music from her trailer and how she refused to turn up to shoots on time and wouldn't be rushed by anyone. She sounds like a nasty piece of work but I suppose thats perfect for a Bond villain!

    Who does like Grace Jones?

From what I've seen, she's a flaming mentalist.

Ok, I get the 'women are equal' stuff, but if you wanna show the world you're capable of things, I'd suggest doing it, instead of beating up Parky.

Daaaaance, to the rhythm..... what a crock of ****.

She didn't beat up Parky, it was Russell Harty. :)

As well as Grace Jones I've read that Tanya Roberts was also a bit of a Diva. :#

Yes, Grace Jones was always a diva - just ask Russell Harty whom she slapped in the face for "ignoring her" on his chatshow! I believe she also gave the director/prioducers trouble at the UK/US premiere of AVTAK. She was a temperamental type of "artiste", so to speak!

She apparently used to try to knock 7 bells out of Dolph when they were a couple too (so legend has it).

Rog says in his autobiography that if you have nothing nice to say about someone, say nothing at all. Then proceeds to say....nothing at all!

Reading between the lines and from what we know of Roger Moore, whatever his talents as an actor may be, he is well regarded as a professional. He comes to his job well prepared, he knows his lines, arrives on time and does as the director asks. I have heard editors in particular praising his ability to repeat takes, hitting his marks bang on, time after time.

But like most professionals, he judges others by his own standards and does not like prima donna behaviour or tardiness. Ms Jones was reportedly babysat by the young Barbara Broccoli just to make sure she got to the set on time!

However I can't agree with minigeff's comment on Slave To The Rhythm which I think is a terrific track.....but that may be more to do with producer Trevor Horn................Now he could have produced a fantastic Bond theme, but that's another thread!

No idea why Rog dislikes her, but in the bond on bond book her refers to her as "She who shall not be named" (or something similar to that)

    Hilarious! You go, Grace!

I think she also started an altercation on a plane back in 2004/5 if I remember correctly!

their love scene was classic. Mayday slams him down and gets on top. Bond is kissing her while rolling his eyes. The next morning he replies to Zorin, "I got off eventually."

anyway...back to the topic. In John Glen's book he says:

"We were filming the scene where Roger slips between the sheets when Grace suddenly produced a huge black dildo from under the covers. She was screaming with laughter for about 10 minutes, although I'm not sure Roger saw the funny side."

I heard the story, but thought it was Sir Rog who had provided the sex aid, sort of thing he might do, he has a raunchy sense of humour. Ah well.
