I am always being asked who my favourite actor who has played James Bond is and to everyone I give the same reply, it doesn't matter to me who plays James Bond I just like the character.

So long as people respect that to have a franchise for 50 years you have to mix up the character a bit to keep it fresh then these arguments wouldn't happen. I respect every actor who has played James Bond; none are perfect but all are very good.

Yes, the original literary Bond character and his portrayal in 20-odd films is James Bond in the popular mind, though my favourite Bond is Timothy Dalton.

Watching Flash Gordon over christmas, I couldn't help but wonder
what FYEO etc, would of looked like with Him as Bond.

Interesting thought - a new Bond for a new decade.

For me, it's Moore and Craig , but overall, I like the Fleming character.

I think it's fascinating that those are your choices given that the actors' portrayals of Bond are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. Just goes to show that we hardcore Bond fans are a very eclectic and interesting group! :007)

My point exactly - I too love Dalton, Moore and Craig, as well as Lazenby. I'm a Fleming purist who defends the works of John Gardner! Beat that!

I've been told that. Moore is the first I saw, and DC is great in the roll.
