Mastering Bond?

Each Actor played Bond in a completely different way - from Connery's dark sophistication to Moore's subtle humour - and I think it's clear that each actor took a length of time to be fully confident in the role. In what bond films do you feel that each actor mastered their role? Excluding Lazenby of course any Dalton if you feel he didn't have sufficient time to develop.

For me I feel Sean Connery completely mastered the role in FRWL and GF
Roger Moore got the role spot on in TSWLM and every film which followed he continued his form (especially OP in my mind)
Dalton was the same in both his films but I was never a fan of the way he played Bond. (I know, I know he played it like Fleming would of wanted)
Brosnan was fantastic in every film INO but he seemed like a true reliable secret agent in GE
Craig never surpassed his characterisation in CR, he was the only Bond to completely find his footing first time Round for me.
....and the best he ever managed was a sermon on the mount.

I think Dalton also 'nailed it' right out of the box. Any shortcomings in his movies were not about his portrayal (apart from the Vampire hair in LTK)
