Anyone notice Timothy Dalton's image in the opening credits?

In the opening credits, there was an image of Timothy Dalton holding a gun. I was featured in a grave/cemetery scene.

No actually, watched it a minute ago and I didn't notice anything... might have to take a closer look

You don't mean the image of Silva do you jorgem? The one that appears after Bond gets surrounded by the shadows and shoots them, and the image of Silva rises up? I've not watched the opening credits in a while, but saw the film 4 times and apart from Bond, and the girls in it, don't think there's any other people in the credit sequence.

It looks like Dalton from 1987-1989.

I've watched the titles a few times and agree it's Silva.
I guess it's to show that he's what Bond could become given
    similar circumstances.

It's clearly Silva.... Daniel Kleinman likes to put the storyline into the opening credits.

I watched the titles and heard that there's a shot of Bond as a young boy looking through a crack in the wall, at least according to Sam Mendes on the commentary. Anybody else see this?

Guys, this stuff is plain as day in the movie. Are you watching the film through a neighbor's window? :))

The shadow on the wall is Silva, confirmed by Kleinman in that BBC radio interview as well as the commentary track of the DVD.

I'd like to see a screenshot of the moment you are referring to. Might not be the shadow.

    Cheers HalfHitman -{

I knew the silhouetted figure was Silva, that's obvious, you can tell by the long leather jacket at the very least, but I wanted confirmation on the young/old Bond bits.

Nice effect, although I didn't realise it was supposed to Bond as a young boy/teenager. I just thought it was Bond in his pre-Casino Royale days and was supposed to show how life as a secret agent has taken it's toll on him.

Still, wonder how they did it? Just some careful airbrushing of the same photo of Craig??

Young Bond got by me the first time as well. I think it's just some canny face casting of a young boy.

Anyone else think the shadowy Silva image is somewhat similar in style to Banksy's work?

I too thought it was Timothy Dalton at first, but realised there was no particular reason why it should be.

Normally I avoid this type of reaction to certain decisions in SkyFall that have caused confusion, but for this thread I have to agree.

If you saw the trailers, why would you think that was Timothy Dalton and not Javier Bardem as Silva?

I thought i spotted all the Bonds on a zebra crossing, Connery and Lazenby both in black tuxedo, Moore in white tuxedo, Dalton looking out of a wooden cello box, Brosnan in black tux again, Craig in his Barbour, and one of those orange 70s Bond bugs in the background has the car registration '50 IF'... 8-)

As an aside, the eyes shot of Bond as a boy immediately made me think of Charlie Higson's Young Bond books. Its irronic, since his books are supposed to be a prequel series to Mr Flemings novels.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

This is the first time the villain was shown in the opening credits right?

I'd imagine that any resemblance to Timothy Dalton's image is purely coincidental. End of topic. 8-)
