Funny enough, the reviewer basicly hits the nail in places on why for me, QoS is no 23 in my list of bonds.

No no no, I'm talking about doing a video review, a la Siskel & Ebert, The Nostalgia Critic, etc. When you do that, I'll actually care about your opinion regarding my "Embarrassing video review"
    Sir Miles wrote:
And it should read "what QUANTUM are" NOT "is" ....and you complain about a typo :o
ROFL!!! All right, you're screwing with me right?

QUANTUM is singular. It is an organization like SPECTRE, right? "What (the organization) is," is the correct grammar. "What (the organization) are," makes no sense. Now if you were to use a plural preceding noun such as "Members of QUANTUM are," then that would make sense.

Seriously dude, you really need to learn proper grammar.

No idea whom Ebert is - and no desire to know either...a film critic would get his facts right though.
... Okay, I'm pretty convinced you're just screwing with me now. I'm done with this conversation. But before I go:

Why would I 'fornicate' with you ?:) You have a very high opinion of yourself...

Nope...no idea whom Ebert is/was/ever will be...

And whom said I cared about your review..?..I just said it was childish and embarrassing...but if you find it ok...go knock yourself out...

    Oh...."learn proper grammar" - now THAT'S funny :))

    Bye -{

This kind of thing reminds me of a petulant scrap on The Big Bang Theory....

LOL, okay you got me there. I didn't even realize this board censored words... that kinda sucks!
    Sir Miles wrote:

And didn't bother to look at the links I placed on here.
Okay long story short, although I'm still convinced you're just screwing with me and actually know who he is, Roger Ebert is a Pulitzer Prize-winning Chicago film critic who used to have a review show called SISKEL & EBERT (with Gene Siskel). He's one of the most famous and respected critics in the world... and yes, he thought QUANTUM OF SOLACE sucked.

    Spoken like a true douche.

The censorship is for people like you that think swearing is 'big and clever' 8-)

No...I didn't check the links...as I clearly said...I've no idea whom he is...and no interest in finding out...and well done for him if he thought so...I'm sure he didn't rely on lame-arse 'jokes' to put his reasons as to why he thought so.

    A douche ? Grow up muppet 8-)

So much for you being finished with this....

This thread has become like the fencing match in Die Another Day, but I'd love to see links to any further video reviews of the same ilk.

Looking at Lordofthejimmy's praise of GE, it's interesting to see again that, as in the recent book 'Chasing Bullets', it's a case of one's first Bond movie remaining a favourite (even though any claim on its behalf to be the best on 'objective' grounds would soon find itself disputed).

As for QOS, I'd go along with most of Lordofthejimmy's criticisms. Having said that, I've made a hobby of finding virtue in the least well regarded Bond pictures. I've watched DAF and TMWTGG more than any of the others, frequently return to DAD and AVTAK, and I was delighted when LTK, after its lukewarm initial reception even by fandom, began to enjoy 'rehabilitation' in fan opinion.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Just rewatched QoS, There is a good bond film idea in it, but it didn't show up on film.

If you switch on your personal prejudice suppressor field, you'll find it quite enjoyable I think.

Don't get me wrong, there was good points, and i Don't feel like I wasted my time rewatching it, and there are some very good things about the film (The Opera House, Olga Kurylenko, The fight in the hotel room are all top notch) But the film is still a mess. Though I suspect that when i finish reviewing all the bond films it will be better then last place that it currently resides.

the film is still a mess.
I thoroughly HATED it when I first saw it; I thought it was actually okay the second time; I flat out enjoyed the hell out of it last week.
It's my favourite of Craig's three now for its ferocious simplicity and killer pace.

"Its ferocious simplicity and killer pace" - a simplicity despite moments of audience disorientation (particularly during a first viewing) as to what's actually going on - are virtues which likely will guarantee that QOS always has its staunch supporters.

This has turned out to be a very engaging thread!

And yes, favorite, not favorite is relative. I wonder if I had been born earlier and grew up watching Timothy Dalton how much I would have liked GOLDENEYE...

Heads up, DR. NO is next!
