SPEED vs. AVTAK

Over the weekend I watched Speed (1994 Keanu Reeves Sandra Bullock) and I noticed the entire film is basically an extended version of the firetruck chase in A View to a Kill.
Just like AVTAK, Speed starts out with a burning elevator scene before switching gears to an out of control bus chase. The girl is the one stuck driving the bus while the hero stays mobile trying to improve their odds.
I couldn't resist to watch A View to a Kill again this morning and of course found it to be highly enjoyable as always. Even though the firetruck chase is probably my least favorite part of the film it also seems to have influenced my beloved Goldeneye T-55 tank chase. Think of the police cars getting stuck together and the horse statue falling down on the hoods.
Some AVTAK detractors who are trying hard to hate the film often reference the the line about "yeah? and I'm Dick Tracy" claiming that Bond is so famous that everybody knows him. Obviously, the Police Sergeant was skeptical of him being in the British Secret Service. Stacy even confirms this moments later by asking, "Is that true what you said about being in the secret service?" Note she did not say, "OMG are you really James Bond 007??"
Furthermore, some of the Dalton enthusiasts on here have praised Tim for saying the line, "Bond, James Bond" quickly and businesslike in the beginning of Living Daylights. Well, so does Roger Moore in the firetruck and follows it with "you must take my word for it." Especially funny since this is the 3rd different name he has given Stacy! This film more than any other downplays the "famous secret agent" theme and makes Bond a very human spy who must rely on disguises, covers and aliases.

I agree with you on everything else! Dalton's delivery of the famous introduction is of course the most realistic, but does that make it unmemorable? Who knows! I think not, but it's not really the one you see in many-a bond montage video.
Moore in AVTAK is very convincing in pretty much every way apart from his physical state. Always enjoyed the "well it's not mutual" line after Zorin tells him he amuses him. Very stern and to the point!
