    But seriously, he hit the snake with a flame for a second. Shouldn't it have just recoiled?

    I dunno on that one, now. It was obviously a fake plastic snake, anyway.

    He held it on it for about five seconds or so. I think it would be enough to do the job.

    Fastforward to about 4:30, and that's close to when he starts the process.

    I basically commended Nick37 for trying to get the thread back on topic, and I lamented the fact that he was unsuccessful. I see that since then a lot of the "off topic" posts have been deleted, so perhaps mine was deleted as well because it is no longer relevant. If so, I'm fine with that.

    Speaking of confusion, I thought Yaphet Kotto did a great job as Mr. Big- seeing him become all prim & proper was amazing, then he surprised us again by becoming a badass fighter. An all around excellent bad guy (too bad for the balloon-bang ending).

    Agreed on all three. She was really the first character in a Bond film that didn't really work for me. I suppose that Sheriff J.W. Pepper wasn't too good, either. -{

    I remember during the advent of the VHS machine, we got ours in the time between the releases of FYEO and OP and the older Bond movies became favorite rentals in our home. But after watching "the cool ones" once in a while I would have a marathon weekend of renting the "lame" Bond movies, which were LALD, TMWTGG and sometimes, DAF. :(|)

    Yes, it was my first. :x
    And TMWTGG is another severe favourite from my youth. It holds up surprisingly well IMO!
    But I know a lot of fans hate it. They hate QOS too, which I also fancy.

    Definitely! I've always liked TMWTGG (hell, I like them all of course) and am growing to like QoS more and more, though I still hate the editing... and the song...

    I like the song because of the singer...you know how the Queen song goes about what makes the world go round!

    I wouldn't say she was an insult to blacks or to females. The fact that Rosie was an idiot didn't have anything to do with her race or gender - she was just stupid! Now the CIA is another story -they should feel insulted!

    Silhouette Man,

    I can tell that you have a deep understanding of the film Live and Let Die, however I don't agree that it's a marmite film. I hardly ever see it at the bottom of anyone's list like Moonraker. Nor do I see it at the top. Usually hangs around just outside the top 10.

    A few years ago I considered it the 2nd best Roger Moore film behind The Spy Who Loved Me. Since then LALD has kinda slipped in the rankings. I still love it but not quite as much as AVTAK, MR, and FYEO.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK
