    I'm not a big fan really, I'm writing a polemic on it at the moment. It's called 'A Very Nasty Little Film Indeed - An Alternative Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971)'. But I have watched it more times recently than the World Health Organisation deems good for your health! :))

    Octopussy - Very exciting movie overall, good locations

    You Only Live Twice - Good adventure movie

    Live And Let Die - Very entertaining, good locations

    Goldfinger - Very entertaining

    Tomorrow Never Dies - Some of the best action scenes in the series

    As usual! But if it's any consolation, I don't think Octopussy is half bad for a Roger Moore Bond. In fact, it's my second favorite Moore Bond after FYEO. And for me it's a bit more of a serious Bond than a strictly fun one. In particular, the scenes leading up to the potential detonation of the bomb are played straight and are very suspenseful.

    I am a bit surprised that noone has TB on the list and would like to add TMWTGG

    To me that is less a Big Fun movie than a Small Strange one, but I do like it a lot.

    DAF. Great wit, one memorable scene after another. Even slim finale means it's not overcooked.
    MR. Also great wit, in between the slapstick. Bit more quality in a way, with soundtrack and cinematography.
    LALD. A great TV movie Bond of the 1970s, and unlike NSNA I mean that in a good way.
    GF. A decent film, but also the sheer wit of it makes it work, and while other films like OP and YOLT are more out there, this one pares it down a bit, it's less bloated and the style is more fun.
    AVTAK. Unpretentious fun, I like it.

    1. The Spy Who Loved Me - Great spectacle and all around fun

    2. You Only Live Twice - I have always loved this movie, in fact it is my 3rd favorite Connery movie.

    3. Moonraker - IMHO Not as bad as most people say it is

    I don't rank Octopussy as one of the fun movies, it is pretty serious overall

    Agreed, it has some parts that scream flat-out fun (like the PTS, a fantastic piece of nonsense) but overall I'd say it is one of the more serious Moore 007s.

    :)) Sorry about that! I am halfway through TND in my Bondathon (about a third of a movie before going to sleep) with my girlfriend and I guess we will continue with it tonight. I don’t consider this to be much fun, it is one of my least favorite movies of the series. But alas, better things are yet to come. O wait, 3 hours from now we will start DAD! :S

    I would say Thunderball and TSWLM and Moonraker are the biggest "Fun" Bond movies. LALD, Octopussy, and TMWTGG all have a seriousness to them that makes them less of an epic, fun Bond movie than those top three.

    Tomorrow Never Dies, perhaps the only film of the last 2 decades to not involve alot of constant psycho analyzing of Bond's faults, history, or brooding from his character, it doesn't try to be anything deeper then flat-out fun entertainment which i miss from the current films.

    I think we can all agree that the biggest attempt of a "flat-out fun" Bond movie was Moonraker. But for me, it was too much. I can enjoy Moonraker for what it is but it's just a step too far down the comedy route for me! So as comedic as it is, it's my least favourite of the movies we can call "family fun".

    My personal favourite in this category is undoubtedly The Spy Who Loved Me. It has all the fun that Moonraker has without Jaws being too cringey. As I've said before Jaws actually comes across as intimidating in this one - at the pyramids and on the train - but also has the fun element - killing the shark, the magnet on his teeth etc. The big sets and the shootout in the Liparus are amazing! As of course is the finale on Atlantis.

    Other great fun Bonds to me are YOLT, TMWTGG, TND and DAD.

    DAF is just not fun to me at all! I can see it's meant to be, but it just isn't!
    Now, they only eat rat.
