I change my mind; after watching all seasons of White Collar so far in the past two weeks, I think Matt Bomer would be perfect as 007. He'd be capable of doing the serious but also cracking a joke every now and then. There's no arguing with the look (he's practically Dalton's twin). If he could pull of the accent, I'd have him without a second thought. I do understand that a lot of people think an American Bond would be blasphemy though

I know it sounds insane, but at 35 he is probably too old already if DC stays on for another 3 films whoever takes over will need to be under 40.Thereore whoever the next man is he is probably late 20's and not yet on anyone's radar.

Not true he has signed on for two and Dalton, Brosnan and Moore where in there 40's when they started

You're right that Craig has signed on for two (and I'm sure that's all he'll do).
Regarding the age of the actor playing Bond, I think the difference is that when Brosnan, Dalton and Brosnan started, the plan was to make a new Bond film every two years.
Barbara Broccoli has dropped that schedule for, seemingly, a film every three years. So you could argue that you need to cast slightly younger.

Even at 2 films if the first is not released until 2016 and assuming at least a 2 year gap the arguement still holds. besides we are in a different landscape now with longer gaps between movies, which means that to get 3 films out of a new/next Bond may well be 12 years in total so do the math. BTW I found your tone unnecessarily rude.
In the novels, Bond was around 35? Ideally, a Bond should be between 35-45 years old. Henry Cavill comes to mind as the only possible option. He is 32-33 now?
Matt Boomer definitely has the look of Bond. The ranks of Brosnan in style and looks.
I have heard that they are filming the next 2 back to back
It was rumoured a couple of months back that John Logan was scripting a two-part story that could be filmed back to back. But Daniel Craig was quoted as saying that he did not know where the rumour came from, and that Bond 24 would be a stand alone film.

My current favourite is Henry Cavill. He's already tested for the role, looks the part, and will just about be the ideal age when Daniel Craig departs. But a lot can and will happen in the meantime. At this moment, it's quite possible we know little to nothing about the actor who will be Bond #7.
It appears that Henry Cavill believes he should be the next Bond after Craig. Talking to Empire Magazine, "What a wonderful challenge to follow up Daniel Craig. He has set the bar so high."
Hiddleston is a good idea, still pulling for Fassbender tough
Fassbender would be a perfect match but would he touch Bond seen as he's one of the worlds top actors right now. He wouldn't have time to do his own projects but damn he would be a perfect Bond. But he'd be 40 something when Craig leaves.
I think maybe he might be a megastar before Craig steps down but he has that suave look to him.
Sorry, I dont see it. He looks like a kid, his forehead is unusually big. I dont see danger in him. Cavill all the way for me.
I agree - I can't see Hiddleston as Bond. But then, I felt the same way about Craig until I saw Casino Royale.
He was great in the Avengers movie, went to Eton and is 6ft2. Despite all that though I just can't see it. I likewise could not see Craig, particularly at that disastrous first press junket, but I can see Tom even less. No disrespect but Craig stretches the notion of handsome and divides opinion, but still has a vehemently supportive female fan base. I just can't see that translating here, but as you rightly suggest ' who knows'
Is Campbell set to be the next James Bond? Rumors that the producers are looking for someone slightly different to play James Bond emerged in March 2013. One of the names who keeps cropping up is Bruce Campbell.
Campbell’s star has been rising in Hollywood in recent years thank to critically acclaimed roles in “Spider-Man 3” (2007), “Spider-Man 2” (2004) and “Spider-Man” (2002). His commercial appeal is growing, too.
The question for Campbell now is – what next?

Cavill is too pretty boy for it. Hiddleston is afar better actor and carries himself like Craig.
