Since last year or so, and getting hooked on Revenge the last few seasons - when Barry Sloane came on the show. It was ABSOLUTELY CLEAR TO ME that he should be the next JAMES BOND. He is the next James Bond, hands down. I thought
I was the first to think this, but see I'm in good company, with others way ahead of me on this. Just decided to put it
down somewhere in case anyone is listening. If I was casting, he would be cast. Henry Caville, though I love, has not got
the same virility and sex appeal that Barry does. Barry exudes sex appeal and has the physical prowess to match.
I really hope this comes to be, if he wants it.

Brittish Model David Gandy ?????? (Although at 6'3" might be a tad too tall). Speaking of height, I dont believe Matt Boemer is anywhere near 6'. Also, speaking as an American Bond fan, I never minded the non English ( Connery-Scotch, Lazenby-Aussie, Dalton-Welsh, Brosnan-Irish) because they were still all connected with that clipped Brittish accent tone which distinguishes itself in those regions. Even a Bond actor from H.K., South Africa or N.Z would be cool with me.....But not an American

Lazenby admits on DVD extras that he needed voice coaching as he spoke with a rural Australian accent
    I must be dreaming

How on didn't i notice this actor before? He seems near perfect for Bond. I have only seen him act in short snippets on youtube, but he seems very promising. Right looks, age (32) , height (6' 2'') and charisma - and he has acting experience too. Look here:

Agree. Better dan Benedict Cumberbatch. He could be a good villain however.

so my top 3 is: Matthew Goode, Henry Cavill and Barry Sloane for now.

My top three are Aaron Tylor-Johnson, Barry Sloane and Clive Standen.
Right age, nationality, looks age etc. and clearly talented.

Max Brown might have a shot too. but with the exception of Taylor-Johnson I have only seen them actiong in Youtube clips, so I'm not too sure about their acting range.

Can we please have Christian Bale?

The man has excelled in a myriad of completely different roles and shown extraordinary commitment to transforming his body and mind from one role to another.

He'll be close to fifty when Craig hangs up the PPK. If he hadn't been a superstar already at the time, he would have been an excelent Bond in 2006.

None of the bond actors were that well known before the role (most well known was probably Moore for the saint)...

An A-list actor has never played bond and I can't see that changing.

Maybe the new saint will be bond ;)

If DDL was to do a one-off Bond Film OHMSS style, they might be able to pull it off. Eon has never purposely sought out an actor to play Bond in a 1-off role though.

At age 56, he would likely not have a chance to play Bond til age 60. If you look at current pictures of him now, he has aged well enough that he wouldn't look any worse than Connery or Moore in their final portrayals. Doubt they will ever go for a one-off route though.

I too like the idea of Fassbender, especially watching the trail or for " The Counselor " although
By the time Craig leaves he might be too old to take on Bond.

I'm watching Homeland season 2 where Rupert Friend has a significant part. According to CmdBond he wad tested for CR and his reading was "impressive". Age, height, acting ability seems good. On Homeland he is fine. He doesn't exude Bond, but that isn't the part he is playing. I think he still is a candidate to be reconed with.

I think DC should try and make 7 to equal Moore :))

Though as I've said before I really think Benedict Cumberbatch would be great.

I was interested in him possibly playing the role after seeing The Last of the Mohicans and then The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I think he could have pulled it off at that age.

He has an interesting look that could work, depending on the kind of Bond they want. Bond should be handsome, but I don't want a Bond who looks like a generic model or action hero, and this guy is a bit more distinct than so many actors today.

I met Joseph Mawle, lovely guy, classic good looks (needs a haircut to be Bond) but if I was in charge
    I would pick him
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

Eion Macken might be a candidate. He is a thirty year-old model and actor from Dublin. He has also written and directed. Macken is 5' 11' tall and has been in Tudors, Merlin and Centurion among other things. He has studied acting and psychology and his interests are swimming, golfing, horseback riding, climbing, sailing and kickboxing.
