I was thinking as she, Is also a Intelligence officer, (sure for
another country). Not as In the Novel Moonraker, But as with
Gala Brand, Bond only becomes Friends with her and doesn't
end the film going off with her as her Lover. ? any Thoughts ?

I think it is pretty far fetched. The chemistry between Gala and Bond from the novel was missing IMHO. It felt more like 2 people that need each other because they were working towards the same goal (just different victims). Bond was very surprised that she in fact was engaged and wasn't coming with him to France. I didn't get that vibe from Craig and Camille.

"Far Fetched" Is my middle name Peppermill :))
Just thought as she was a very different Bond girl,
They might of been thinking about Bond's relationship
With G Brand. Not an excact Copy but a woman in a
    similar Sate of Mind.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. I actually postulated this theory on a Leslie Charteris Saint group. I'll have to look up my response in 2008 on there and get back to you. I think that this point may also have been made by other commentators too as Gala Brand comes to mind in this particlar area as an inspiration on Camille in how ever small a way. Miranda Frost was originally to have been called Gala Brand in Die Another Day, although Purvis and Wade later changed the name, as DAD is a thinly veiled attempt to adapt parts of the Moonraker Fleming novel to the screen.

    I don't say that I'm the first to see a ( However small) similarity. SM. -{
( Only the Most talented, Handsome and Modest ) :))

Although it is interesting as to Why they've never used her as a Character.

I remember reading many of The Saint stories ( Long ago). Didn't
L Charteris think Fleming had stolen large bits of Simon Templar to
    create Bond ?

There are some interesting threads in the Lit Forum which touch on that subject, TP.

On topic, I don't see much resemblance between Camille and Gala, bar the fact that they're both rare among Bond Female Leads in not sleeping with him (not totally unheard of- Liz Krest springs to mind- but rare nonetheless). Being a fellow intelligence officer is fairly common (Wai Lin, Anya, Tania (arguably), Aki, Holly, Pam).

Just found my mini-essay post from November 2008 on the Leslie Charteris group and thought I would share it with you in this thread:

"Moonraker was the first Bond novel that I read and it remains my favourite. For me, it had everything, the best villain in Sir Hugo Drax, the cliff-falling scene and the dinner plates afterwards, the bizarre newsprint car chase, the bridge game, the fact that it was set entirely in England and Fleming was in his element and the ultimate answer to those who say the Bond girls are all just mindless bimbos, just there as 'eye candy' in the character of Gala Brand (whom Bond never sleeps with, similar to Camille in QoS, I believe)."

Agreed, but He did end up in Bed with them all. Dirty work and all that. :))

Camille like Gala seemed to fill a different Need in Bond, a shoulder to (If not
cry on) at least lean on for support, as a Friend.

Just shows SILHOUETTE MAN, I'm slow on the up take but I do catch on. It
only popped in to my head the other night. ;)
