Afraid of hijacking the Michael Fassbender thread, I decided to open a new one. Who do you reckon should be the next villian? Actors who come to mind are Ewan McGregor, Sir Christopher Lee (again because he's so Awesome) Michael Kitchen (who was Tanner, yes, but is still awesome), Benedict Cumberbacht, Ian Mcdiarmid and Anne Hathaway (now that will be awesome, a villainess like her and a DC Anne sex scene would be awesome. They could make her the head of Quantum!) Your thoughts?

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Oh my God...what a weird and scary Mofo he looks- scared the pants off me already !
He's definitely got the look!!
If we're going to return to Quantam though, I want some resolution to Mr. White. He got off pretty likely in QoS
Don't shoot me! I'm only joking.
he looks like my old doctor..... seriously

Was that the one who always straitjacketed you?

Wouldn't like McGregor to be a villain, as I've always seen him as a possible future 007.
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
his portrayal of Goebels was brilliant i have watched that film 5/6 times
and he was so believable

Robert DeNiro we could only wish! I think actors of his caliber will never get into the Bond movies... He could easily fit the bill for an epic Mob boss in the world of today. You could already picture him being casted as a very powerfull well-known and feared Don of a crime family. In a scene where he steps out of his car with a long raincoat and a lot of bodyguards and people shaking hands with him, while Bond is lurking in the shadows overlooking it all realising he's up against a very powerful man. Haha - I'm drooling of here )
Laurence Fishburne is someone that could easily fit in the Bond univurse in my opinion. He could go for a villian, or an alie. It would all work well I think.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld's daughter Nena Blofeld appeared in John Gardner's For Special Services, not Never Send Flowers, which starred David Dragonpol as an ex-actor turned serial killer. His sister Maeve Horton was also a villainous woman who tried to blow Princess Diana up with a hand grenade, but a femme fatale she most certainly was not.
Whoops! My Bad, Guess I need to start a reread! Thanks for the correction.
No need to apologise - we all make mistakes, but I'm a Gardnerologist, y'see.
This thread has been in my head all day. I keep going back to Mark Strong he played a great behind the scenes manipulator in John Carter as Matai Shang. One other name keeps popping into my head: Alan Rickman. Anybody know what he's doing these days? He has been such different villains. Hans Gruber in Die Hard - Cold, Calculating slowly driven over the edge by frustration. In Quigley Down Under, as Marston, he was was a sociopath pretending at civility. And as Sherriff Of Nottingham he played a raving psychopath. In all three he was a blast to watch.
Although I deplore the movie, at least the success of Skyfall might attract some of these bigger named stars to Bond Roles. If for nothing else, for that I am grateful for Skyfall.
