If Die Another Day was such a big financial success how come the franchise seemed to stall out and had to re-boot 4 years later with a new actor? Never quite understood that...no Bond film in 2004 ?? X-(

Whatever... just like every new Bond film is the "Best of the lot", the current Bond ACTOR is "the best one ever (or since Connery)". Roger Moore, during his reign, was "closest to Fleming's description". Brosnan was the best, Dalton was the best, etc. Once Craig's moved on and a new actor is in the role, HE will be considered "Best Bond EVER (or since Connery)".

Babs and Mikey said the same things about Brosnan.

yeah, the current actor is always the best.

they casually mentioned Barbara was not a big Brosnan fan? Well, actually they said "Although not Barbara's favourite" which apparently could apply to any Bond actor other than Craig. 8-)

That colorful chart gets about a C- for readability and accuracy. TMWTGG budget was NOT 13,000,000...maybe half that. And why give Lazenby the bullseye for only 6 kills?

Connery only said, "Bond, James Bond" 3 times in 6 films? really?

What do we really expect the producers to say? That the current actor portraying Bond is not as good as the one(s) who came before? Of course they're going to say that each new actor who takes over the role is the best ever!

Yeah I thought the bullseye should be or most kills too.

Plus DC has said "bond, James Bond" in CR and Skyfall. And the latter is now the biggest grossing film already, isn't it?

I fully agree. I actually wrote that since it's as I see it, with a hint of sarcasm thrown in there. I well know it's all about self-promoting.

As far as Daniel Craig, he's ok. He's not the greatest actor to play Bond. I don't know why everyone thinks he is. He doesn't match up with Fleming's description, doesn't show much emotion, kind of walks through his lines and his Bond films feel like generic action hero films... not Bond films.

I know it's not him as a person that I don't care for. It's the way he plays "Bond". I watched him host Saturday Night Live some months back and he was hysterical! Although I don't want to see a return of the 1970's romps, I would like to see a return of the Bond films... you know, what made them unique amongst all the others.

It says a lot about where the franchise is heading when in 1969 Lazenby kissed 3 women in one film while Craig has kissed only 4 women in three films. 8-) :# :(

Babs and Daniel, sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!

Whoa! Crush much?! She must be just looking at him from the neck down. I am jealous of Craig's torso.

Interesting that the rest of the production team doesn't share her enthusiasm.
Beg your pardon, forgot to knock...
