Short Version of 007 Theme

Hi everybody,

I just joined this forum because I'm writing an essay on the 007 theme.

When transcribing the tune I noticed the 8 bars of the famous Da Di Di Dum towards the end of the piece may have been inserted there last minute. The final build-up has been interrupted to lengthen the theme possibly to match the length of opening credits.

I was wondering what you guys think about it.

I edited the original theme and uploaded it without the 8 bars here:

And the original theme is here:

Interesting to the musicologist. I've not heard this theory before - are you writing a thesis, pray tell, xxx-xxx?

The version used in the DN titles was indeed edited and spliced.

Btw, this tune is called the "James Bond Theme". The "007" theme is a different piece- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlwIZPXgjYY
