Your Bond eras...

This is how I see it:
The Adventurous Bond- ('62-'69)
DN through OHMSS. What a ride, uneven but amazing. Ahh, the sixties.
The Satirical Bond- ('71-'85)
DAF through AVTAK. Let the jokes begin! And seemingly never end. A few attempts at seriousness here and there, but mainly mindless entertainment.
The Brief Literary Bond- ('87-'89)
TLD & LTK. Dalton's light burned twice as bright and lasted less than half as long. The public wanted giggles, too.
*INTERMISSION*
The Refit Bond- ('95-'02)
GE through DAD. Brand new for the post cold war era, sassy, often brutal, very funny, and of course, PC. The kitchen sink mentality overtook.
The Reboot Bond- ('06-'12)
CR through SF. Brand new for the post 9-11 era, serious, very brutal, brow-crunched, and brooding. Not your father's double-O.
How do YOU divide them up?

Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

You paint far too broad of a brush stroke with this one.
DAF LALD TMWTGG = Guy Hamilton low budget campy era
TSWLM MOONRAKER = Lewis Gilbert Big budget blockbusters.
FYEO OP AVTAK = John Glen Getting back to Fleming approach. Serious with a few attempts at humor here and there.

I'd separate out DN and FRWL as an original Flemingist era. Then I'd probably lump in the rest of the Connery Bonds with the Moore Bonds as one "Cinematic Bond era" with OHMSS and FYEO as possible exceptions.
But as good as OHMSS & FYEO were, I feel they were heavily saturated with the 'cinematic' Bond 'feel'. IMO, of course.

The golden years would be 1962-1969, including YOLT.
The dark years would be 1971 - 1985, and including FYEO only.
The back to basic years are 1987-1989
The entertainment years were 1995 - 2002
The reboot years were 2006 -2012.
The reboot is over now, it will be interesting to see where Bond 24 takes us to. I assume back to the Brosnan area, but than with better writing, GE level.

After reading all the other posts I too think that there is a difference between the first two Connery films and the Cinematic Bond that started with Goldfinger. But OHMSS doesn't quite fit in there for me. At the same time I do like Firemass' subdivision.. but after bouncing back and forth I think your original breakdown is probably best. You can argue over this movie or that but overall I think you've nailed it.
