Can't remember the guy's name, but he was a friend of Cubby's...played a gangster sitting at the bar amidst the "hoods' convention" in GF...played someone sitting at the baccarat table when Bond bails out Tracy in OHMSS...finally had a speaking role in TSWLM as the Stromberg crew member who says. "Sir? The monitor's faded".

Aha, his name just came to me...Lenny Rabin.
I remember him. Another one i know is George Leech who played a SPECTRE skier in OHMSS and Kristatos's henchman (the one who is knocked into shark infested waters)
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

Stuntman George Leech also appears during the car chase in The Spy who Loved Me, as the gunman firing the Dan Wesson Model 15 revolver out of the car window at Bond's Lotus. Also he appears as a Disco Volante crew member during Thunderball's climax( he is the balding man in the Disco Volante t shirt when Bond enters the bridge) Along with Simon Crane, Wayne Micheals, Richard Graydon, and Paul Weston, he is one of the few stunt performers on the series to get an on camera role.
Bob Simmons also appeared as James Bond in the gun barrel squences for Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger, in addtion to playing a US Army soldger at Fort Knox in Goldfinger, Colonel Jacques Bouvard in Thunderball, one of the KGB agents trying to kill Bond during the teaser for The Spy Who Loved Me, and the ""Lotus Explosion Victim" in For Your Eyes Only.
But the winner for the actor playing multiple roles in different films has to be Nikki Van der Zyl, who provided the voices for Honey Ryder (DN), Sylvia Trench (DN & FRWL), Jill Masterson (GF), Domino Derval (TB), Kissy Suzuki (YOLT), Olympe (OHMSS), Canal Guide (DAF), Solitaire (LALD), Chew Mee (TMWTGG) and Corinne Dufour (MR). She's performed in more Bond films than anyone apart from Desmond Llewelyn, Lois Maxwell and Bernard Lee.
How much of these roles were dubbed? Surprised that Sylvia, Solitaire, and Jill had any dubbing as those actresses have better English (presumably) than Honey, Domino, Kissy, Corinne, etc.

From what I understand, only some of Solitaire's lines were dubbed by Nikki van der Zyl (although I can't tell the difference to be honest.) All of Sylvia and Jill's lines were dubbed. Shirley Eaton apparently has a very strong cockney accent which wasn't considered suitable.
There was a bit of a to-do with Nikki Van der Zyl in the press a year or two ago as she seems a little bitter about not receiving due credit. She made a few digs at Shirley Eaton from what I can recall and it all got a bit unpleasant.
I have to say, I had watched the films for years without ever realising that any of them were dubbed. I don't know whether that's because they did such a good job of it or if I'm just not very good at spotting these things.
One thing i don't understand, how come Maud Adams appeared in Octopussy after being killed in TMWTGG? Tim Moxon( Strangeways in Dr No) asked the producers for a part in the next film and they told him no. they said once you have been killed off in a Bond film, you could never work in the Bond franchise again.
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"
It's because Maud Adams was playing separate characters. Quite a few actors recur throughout the series in different roles, such as Detailed earlier in this thread.
But Strangeways the character had been killed off in Dr No so couldn't reappear.
