I always took that line as a bit of office banter with Moneypenny. Making fun of the
Government ministers etc who would have called the "Emergency meeting" ?
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
It's funny…but why doesn't Bond take the situation seriously?
Bond was having a good time at Shrublands (with Pat) and he thinks he was brought back to London for something stupid.
Yeah, Connery subtly and brilliantly demonstrates that he realises the seriousness of it when he looks back at M once he walks into the room.
Yes it's a great tiny moment as we know what a big deal this is but Bond does not. In that one glance Connery conveyed that he 'got it' and that playtime was over. Superb.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
Blofeld has a "thing" over his head to make him look bald. I say "thing" as I have no idea what to call it.
Skullcap.
It's a poor idea cheaply executed. Result is naff and a terrible start. I tried to rewatch on TV recently, I lasted less than fifteen minutes. I really have tried, honestly I have but I just cannot see it as any kind of return to form.

Huh? Did you know that Blofeld is gone after the first six minutes?
If SPECTRE agents do fake their deaths and hold fake funerals like in TB, why do they instantly presume Bind is really dead, no questions asked?
Why did they bother faking Bond's death in YOLT? It doesn't really change the film in any way. I feel they only did it to justify using the title.
This thread is interesting, as what bothers one may not bother another. The funeral element in TB for example is a good excuse for a PTS punch up. I always love the idea of glimpses of missions that we don't see. For me why he goes there is unimportant in TB, but in Spectre it bothers the bejesus out of me as it's a major plot point. Strokes and folks I guess.

Mmmm totally. That bothers me as well. It gave Bond a slight edge to let the enemy think he was dead, however this would have been the case for any Bond mission and nothing specific to this particular story. It's also debatable if turning Bond Japanese and the wedding ceremony had any impact on the plot. I know in the novel he was trying to blend into the local fishing village, however in the film it barely seemed to matter. It's not like there were Spectre agents patrolling the village.

YOLT is interesting because you almost have to completely have to switch off to enjoy the film. There's so much silly rubbish in the film that's either pointless, averagely done or just beautiful but little impact on plot.

Moonraker, on the other hand, is remarkably "air-tight" when it comes to plot holes. Despite its reputation for being mindless entertainment, everything makes sense within the context of the film. The only plot points that don't quite click for me are the Drax ground crews that must realize they are going to be sacrificed AND Drax's reasoning for hi-jacking his own shuttle is a bit flimsy.

I get what you're saying about Drax hijacking his own shuttle. He's a billionaire. He can easily manufacture more shuttles if needed.
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"
Partly that's in reaction to criticism of the same team's TSWLM- while that's generally felt to be the better film, MR's plot does hold together more logically (in context, of course) and avoids most of Spy's loopholes.

I'm sure that a billionaire can't manufacture a shuttle overnight, or even in under a year.

Potentially there is some science-fiction-reality going on with future expectations of the Space Shuttle - that weren't realised anyway...
NASA couldn't get the shuttle up in time, so I guess if Drax had a problem. Stealing a working one,
Would make sense. Or throw his timing out altogether. World domination doesn't just happen you
Know. It takes planning.

Bond travels up the Amazon to find some rare plant he's identified
then comes to a waterfall ... from the top
is he not travelling upstream? he should come to the bottom of the waterfall, not the top
if he travelled up a tributary, he'd still be travelling against the flow of the river, therefor at the bottom of any waterfalls
but maybe he started on a tributary, then got chased onto the main channel, then downstream?
anyway, I see those falls aren't on any part of the Amazon at all, but a completely different river in the south of Brazil https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iguazu_Falls
so I just assumed it was the Amazon, and I guess I also just assumed he was travelling upstream, from the coast, to some place really remote to find this plant
maybe he started in Rio (that much is clear), he has to travel to get to Secret Service field HQ somewhere in the interior, i.e. a height of land (and its arid grasslands, not rainforest), then he travels downstream on this other river in the south of the country to get to the waterfall?
actually that makes complete sense, now that I've thought to look up the waterfall
and now I look at a map, Rio is in the south of Brazil, too, so I'm an idiot
GE - M prefers bourbon but drinks Jack Daniels (a Tennessee whisky)
- The ease at which Bond descends from the ceiling into the stall after killing the Russian.
TND - The Sheryl Crow theme. Put Surrender up front, and Crow's theme at the end.
+1 for the Casino Royale poker finale. Being a card player myself....no way in hell.
Also for CR, how many evening shirts and dinner suits did Bond pack and/or did Vesper have tailored?

Why would Bond go to a SPECTRE agent's funeral?
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
Perhaps a former M instructed him over video to go.
Bond went along to observe ?
