OHMSS... not just first, but last and only!

For actors who played Bond more than once, I'd have to go with TLD.

Ahhh, you like the downbeat stuff.
Let me guess here- you like the ending of the ultimate cut of Blade Runner better than the slightly hopeful theatrical ending, right? ;)

    Guilty as charged!

(For what it's worth, I did prefer the upbeat theatrical ending to True Romance to the alternate downbeat ending.)

OHMSS. It is a top 3 Bond for me. Great movie! Not necesarrily because of George though, just because it is a great, great movie.

Very close between GE and CR, I think Brosnans first time round just scrapes it!

I'd go with OHMSS, ( it is my #1, after all :)) )
although I do love LALD. My first Bond in the cinema
as a kid. Fantastic stuff compared to what we had on the TV.

TLD hands down. Dalton's first was the first Bond I saw in the theater, first Bond I saw all the way through. Love it, love it, love it!

Live And Let Die is my favourite 'Firstie'. It is also a sentimental favourite as it was my full introduction to James Bond. I was already a fan of Roger Moore from the TV series The Saint & The Persuaders. Great bunch of characters, the blaxploitation/voodoo theme works for me, love the boat chase, crocodile farm, etc.

Reading this topic made me realize that I like all these movies quite a lot. All these movies are in my top 12. OHMSS is my overall number 1, so that is easy. After that it gets a bit harder to rank them. But I guess it would be something like this:
-OHMSS a great movie based very closely on one of the best Fleming novels.
-TLD a very different Bond compared to Moore but right for the times. I really like this movie. Great Bondgirl, slimy villain and a very good score.
-GE the first 007 movie I ever saw in the cinema. I guess I still have a soft spot for it.
-DN I have seen this movie so many times when I was younger. It has most of the classic Bond elements.
-LALD a very nice introduction to the new 007
-CR IMHO the best Craig movie so far

If I were to rank all the Bond movies OHMSS would probably come in higher than any other "firstie", so that one gets my nod.

    5. DN
    6. GE

    That list is so close by the way! All of those films are in the top half of my favourite Bond films list. Just goes to show how good each actors first movies have all been! -{

Casino Royale by a country mile.

Bond's tough, suave and a brutal killer. Craig nailed Bond in his first go. The best PTS and best saying of "Bond James Bond" even more so then Connery saying of it.

OHMSS is a brilliant film too as is DR No

TLD easily really. Though you can see in my sig that both GE and CR are right there. But I just find TLD to not just be the best first film for a new actor, but the best Bond film overall. It just had everything. Well, not Pam Bouvier but then LTK makes up for that :p

I'm surprised no one has outright picked CR which pisses over Goldeneye (which isn't any good) and DR no.

That would have to be Goldeneye for me! What an introduction to Pierce Brosnan and a new era! Not just one of the best firstie's, but also one of the best Bond movies hands down. Casino Royale - exactly the same!

I must say, even though I don't rank Dr. No to high in my list, having watched it again recently, it is definitely a great way to start of the franchise and introduce James Bond.

The reason I like LTK so much isn't just because of Timothy Dalton. I do think TLD is a great movie, but it's far from my favorite. Both Goldeneye and Casino Royale are higher up in my personal list. :)
