The great George "Possum" Jones passed away today at the age of 81. I don't know how much ya'll follow real country music over there, but he was the real thing, he lived his songs.

George's music was I think most important to me during my famous Honky Tonk Era from 1972 to 1980, which some may have read about..if not, I'll tell you sometime.

I've seen rough, tough cowboys stop talking, drinking and fighting and just listen when George sang "He Stopped Loving Her Today".

Here's to ya Possum,,,you made the music we loved.

My Parents loved Country Music, so I've heard George Jones many times.
"He Stopped Loving Her Today" is a great track.
