I was wondering If I was a little odd, In that apart from having all
the Films and Books I don't collect anything Of Bond. I do have the
car collection and some scrap books from my teens But that's about it.
So how many members have collections of anything with Bond on it
or from the films etc.
So do you collect and what do you collect? what's the oddest thing
in you collection ?
I didn't post this in the collecting forum for obvious reasons, as they
all collect stuff. )
Or are the others like me who don't really collect anything ?

BOOKS- I inherited the Pan paperbacks from my grandfather in the 60s. Then bought all the continuation novels as they appeared (all firsts). Gradually began collecting the Flemings in hardback, in as early editions as possible. Got them all now, mostly firsts.
Have an uncountable number of books about Bond, beginning with the Amis and Snelling books.
MUSIC- Initially bought the OSTs on vinyl, then replaced then with CDs, then replaced those with the 2003 remasters. Have a just about complete collection of John Barry music on CD, plus uncountable Bond compilations, cover versions, etc.
MISC- The 1965 Corgi Aston Martin still in its box, other toys/games, the posters, premiere tickets, autographs.
The oddest thing is probably a lawyer's letter from a certain well-known figure in the Bond world, telling me to keep my mouth shut about... er, something I can't mention.
collect clothes, shoes, watches etc that Bond has used in the Films. While I have
No desire to dress like Bond etc. I'm more Jeans and T-shirt kind of guy. )

going to Blu Ray. I collected soundtracks on vinyl up to Octopussy and stopped there ( can't remember
why.) Had all the Fleming books and continuation novels as they came out but have sold them all so just
left with DVDs and Blu Ray. I was working in Kobe, Japan when FYEO came out and saw it in a Japanese
cinema which gave a souvenir brochure with your ticket. I still have this. Can't read a word of it but keep it as a memento of good times. Oh, and it has a nude pic of Carole Bouquet in it !!!
I'm impressed Blackleiter...that sounds like a fun collection. Are your 12" figures from the Sideshow series?
If you look closely my avatar has a 12" GI Joe figure in winter assault gear. It reminded me of AVTAK.
I was tempted to buy that LIFE magazine, but I already had the Entertainment Weekly 50th with the exact same photo of Sean on the cover.
1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK
pretty well I watched Octopussy and AVTAK on VHS the past month just for kicks. I bought them in 2002, but I think they are from 1996. I paid way to much for them on eBay...right before DVD totally made them obsolete.

007 spy files magazine collection with all the cards in a collector's tin.
I have several of the 40th anniversary corgi cars and bought a few more off ebay last year. I only went for Aston Martins and the Lotus Esprit, because I wanted some nice things to look at )
I also have a book from around the same time, which I remember really wanting and my mother was furious that I insisted on spending so much of my pocket money on it )
Several Playstation games and a Sega Mega Drive one.
A Skyfall poster.
Most of the Fleming books, 'Bond on Bond' and a DB5 with lights and sounds, all bought as Christmas presents.
I am not a conscious collector at all. I like having all the films because I hate the adverts when they're on tv. I really like having the cars because I know I will never be able to afford the real thing! ) I have the games still and played them a lot several years ago but I don't have any recent ones and only occasionally go back to them. As a kid I liked having any sort of spy or gadgety thing so never especially sought out Bond ones.
In the future when I have a proper job and can afford to, I will probably go after some more cars and I am very fond of watches, so an investment in a Seiko is definitely on the agenda.
The one thing I hope to get ( But it's a long way off ) is a Bond watch. B-)
Thanks. -{
I think I would seriously struggle for space if I wanted to expand it. I have a lot of Doctor Who stuff and they take up far more room, the videos especially. It would cost much more than Bond to upgrade them all to DVD unfortunately, although the extras make it tempting. Books, figures, magazines, toys, home made Blue Peter TARDIS and all sorts occupy space. I also have a large stand with a spinning TARDIS on top that WHSmiths were going to throw out. I use it to display stuff. It takes up a lot of room but I would love to have something like that to put all my Bond stuff on as it looks fantastic.
The Bond watch is my ultimate dream. :x I worked out that it is really just a few years worth of holidays to sacrifice ) I had a discussion with a friend about watches who couldn't believe that I would ever consider spending a couple of thousand pounds on a watch. Even without them being Bond though, I adore them. I guess for a lot of people my age a watch just isn't something important and most people I know use their phones. Yet my parents got me to wear a watch before I could even tell the time. It sure sped up me learning how to and I would feel lost without one. I would never spend lots of money on earrings, necklaces or rings because I worry about them being too delicate, but I like men's watches because they feel more sturdy. It would be something I would wear every single day and so they are something I see myself willing to spend decent money on.
a couple of Daleks, I don't collect anything But I do watch anything
from the old series or Peter Cushing films when they get shown. I'd
better add I love all the new stuff too. Sad to see M Smith leaving.
It started with the movies on VHS when I was young(er), have got the complete Ultimate and Special edition DVD sets (I bought the special editions because it has Italian dubbing that I used when learning Italian). Have an Octopussy poster in my living room, a Corgi DB5, I kept 2 sideshow figures from the 12 I had (DN Connery and TMWTGG Moore). I also have the soundtracks from DN to AVTAK on LP. All Fleming novels in Dutch and English, quite a few Benson and Gardner novels, DMC by Faulks, a Dutch and American signed edition of Carte Blanche, a Dutch and English edition of My word is my Bond by Roger Moore (both signed by sir Roger during a meet and great) and some books about 007. Some of my favorites books on Bond are: James Bond the Legacy by John Cork, The man with the golden touch (not very well know but a fantastic read) and Dressed to kill.
I do have some Bond style clothing, but I wouldn't consider a few nice suits, knitted ties, desert boots, a polo or 2, a dinner jacket etc. really Bond clothing. Just nice stylish clothing.
FelixLeiter;
A Rolex, Omega or vintage Seiko might be a bit too expensive and even if you can afford it you might decide a great holiday is even better than something that is, really, just a tool to tell time. However, you can have a great sturdy automatic watch at the fraction of the cost of a Rolex or Omega. Because you say you'd be wearing it every day an automatic watch might be the way to go. First of all, they feel like real watches, you have to wear them to make them work (or buy a watch winder), you can hear/feel them on your wrist and it is also the sort of watch Bond wears. I would never buy a fake Rolex/Omega etc. because I think it is better to have a watch with its own style and look rather than wearing a cheap knock-off Roleks or Omaga.
Seiko does have some great watches with a distinct, original and sometimes even (modern)classic design. One of my favorites is the Seiko SKX007. You can´t beat the name when you are a Bond fan and it is a 200m certified diving watch. On the internet you can find a lot of reviews of this watch. Another Seiko that is a modern classic is the Orange and Black Monster. Its design is less mainstream than most watches and you either hate the look or you love it. It took me a while (and a SKX007) to appreciate the Monster, but now I love it!
