Yep, Tiptree. It's in the novels. He also uses Norwegian Heather Honey, Cooper's Vintage Oxford marmalade, Jersey butter, French Marans hens eggs and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee made in an American Chemex.

No, you are being short and that remains :v

If you researched your dodgy props in a serious way, you should read at least one of the novels. And of course Donald Grant is right!

You mean one of them novels where no props appear, where I can't take a screen shot, the books that don't match the film for plot etc, the books that don't even have pretty pictures and crayons?

And during my research of SCREEN ACCURATE James Bond FILM PROPS, why would I be finding out information on JAM?!

Silly bondtoys, only you would consider reading a book with no colouring-in section.

    Books?!! BOOORING!!!!

the books provide inspiration for the props and much more...
also the more successful JB movies are the one that stick closer to Fleming's original works/plot

    seriously, as a Bond fan, definitely read the books - people all over the world loves the Bond novels, for decades - that is something -{

I live in Essex, not too far from the village of Tiptree where the jam is made. Little Scarlet is about three times the price of other jams made by Wilkin & Sons there, but it's good. Trust Bond/Fleming to choose the most expensive jam. I think in one if the other topics an AJBer from the US said it's about $20 a jar there...

Don't get me wrong, we're all bond fans here obviously, and I can understand people liking the brands, visiting the locations and collecting the related stuff.

But eating the same jam? Really?

Been meaning to post this for a while.

I was in Centreparcs with the fam for a couple of days during the summer and we had a cooked brekkie in the restaurant there. Along with the toast they brought up some little jars of Wilkin and Sons jam. No Little Scarlet there (it's the premium type) but knowing all about Bond's breakfast habits (bit more interesting than my usual bowl of Alpen) I cracked open one of the little jars to find this inside the lid:

    image.jpg

I wonder if this was a deliberate nod to Bond, knowing the connection?

As some of you may know ,I love the Wilkins little scarlet strawberry jam ,as mentioned in FRWL ,well going on one step ,
I purchased a jar of oxford cut marmalade (vintage ) again from FRWL cant remember whos make it was in the book, even if it was mentioned ,but I got the Frank Coopers version . Hot buttered wholemeal toast at the ready,Earl grey tea on the brew ( Qs favourite) and a huge jar of Coopers , I twisted of the lid ,to reveal a dark golden shimmering delight. I spooned out a serving onto my awaiting toast ,the orange shred looked as if a blind man with a blunt knife had chopped it up ,huge swathes of tantalising shred glistening under the kitchen lights .This looked good . I took my first bite into the still warm toast ,instinctively I closed my eyes to savour the magic that awaited . The huge shreds of orange ,slightly tart ,where a joy and not chewy as one would expect for something so big .One can see why Bond would have this for his breakfast
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I can always rely on my old friend AS to describe snippets of life in glorious detail. Wow, I am salivating for toast and marmalade right now :)). Unfortunately it is rare to get Little Scarlet jam or Oxford Cut marmalade here but our maid's mother makes delicious home made marmalade which is as good as I have tasted anywhere.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

I'm also in need of some toast and marmalade. I shall have some soon after my scrambled eggs with a nice latte I think. ...... I'm also a big fan of Wilkin and sons products, strawberry jam is a quintessential British requirement, and not the cheap stuff either.
It was either that.....or the priesthood
