Hypothetical

Imagine if you will that there was only one Bond film ever made. What would you hope it would be? My wife asked me this today which is strange because she can care less about the series but I certainly had to think. I'm leaning towards saying Thunderball...
"My dear Colonel Bouvar, I don't think you should have opened that car door yourself."

Hmm, the one and only Bond movie ever? I agree, OHMSS totally encapsulates what Bond is all about IMO, almost if not perfectly. What about OHMSS, as originally planned as the 4th Bond film? That would have been radically different from the 1969 version, Terence Young as director, different Bond girl and extended supporting cast, etc. Or, a 1969 OHMSS, but with Connery? Would it have worked?

OHMSS is the DEFINITION of a Spy Film, so I'll go with that.

    OHMSS definitely.
If there could only be a few minutes of Bond, it would have to be the PTS of Goldfinger.
It has everything that's Bond: Humour, violence, drinking, smoking, gorgeous girl, nasty
villain, suspense, excitement, bloody big explosion, nasty villain dying and a killer one liner
    from Connery. Shocking, positively shocking.......brilliant.

Only ONE Bond film ever made? unthinkable!

I'll vote for Never Say Never Again, because I can't imagine the official series of films only being a one-off.

I can't be critical of OHMSS because it is a great movie but I just do not like George Lazenby as Bond. If Connery did OHMSS? Definitley. Sadly he did not and it makes OHMSS drop way down in my eyes. That's just my opinion though. I know that most people seem to either love or hate OHMSS, but as I said its not the movie, its the actor. Thunderball has a great feel to it, bright, sunny, everyone seems in the groove of their characters, great sets and locations... Just wonderful.

Sure, the Aston Martin! (And of course Goldfinger, Odd Job, the golden girl.)

The perfect Bond film is one with George 'Who?' Lazenby in the title role? Boys, you must really hate this franchise! :))
