There are ranking threads and tons of other threads where you can showcase your favorite Bond movie or discuss it...
But here's your chance to explain other members exactly what makes a certain Bond movie your personal favorite of the franchise. It might also help you get a different perspective on other people's oppinions. So discuss other people's oppinions and also show love for your own favorite Bond movie! :)

Like many members know, my favorite Bond movie is: Licence to Kill!

One of the most underrated Bond movies in the franchise. (On this forum tough, there seems to be far more love for it than in general, which is great! :D )

Often it is said that this movie felt to 'different', 'violent' and 'dark'. Personally, I think the terms 'violent' and 'dark' fit James Bond perfectly! Especially coming after the Roger Moore era, it's the perfect adult Bond movie that still has tons of Bondian elements. And yes, it is indeed a very different movie that stretches away from the standard 'Goldfinger' formula that most of the Bond movies try to go for. But I actually think thats a good thing!

The idea of Bond going on a personal vendetta and actually turning away from MI6 is a brilliant idea. It allowed the filmmakers to explore so much unused elements that worked great in this movie. The whole plot is very clever, exciting and keeps you entertained. There are some great twists and turns as well, like MI6 actually sending men after 007 to stop him, or Bond ultimatily destroying Sanchez's organisation by convincing him his own people aren't loyal to him. Robert Davi's Sanchez is hands down the best Bond villian the franchise ever saw. He's badass, charming, and even humorous. One of the reason's this movie might also work so extremely well for me is because this mixes a Bond movie with the crime genre. Scarface is one of my all time favorite movies, so Bond going up against a bad ass drug baron in the 80'ies is already a personal plus for me!

Other people often say that a problem this movie has is that it's to "Miami Vice" and "Die Hard" like. Sure there might be some elements in it, but I don't think thats a bad thing at all. Bond movies are always products of the current times. Much like Moonraker was Star Wars like, the Brosnan movies where Mission impossible like. Quantum of Solace was like the Bourne movies. LTK is still a very original Bond movie in it's own right.

The stunts in this movie are also very exciting. There's the water skiing scene and of course the epic end with the trucks. It has a very over the top and impossible stunt with the truck at the end and I love it! It's a James Bond movie after all!

Timothy Dalton, Carey Lowell and Benicio DelTorro are also all great cast members. And here comes my most controversial oppinion of all: I think Talisa Soto is great as well! - Not only is she very hot and one of the best looking Bond girls since Domino in Thunderball. I also am one of the view (if not the only) people that doesn't think the "I love James Soo much" line was badly acted... I have expressed this oppinion here before, I think that this scene is often misunderstood. I felt the line was just an obvious taunt towards Pam. She deliberatly exaggerates loving James because she knows Pam likes him. It's fits Talisa's character perfectly to do that. Think about it, her taunt obviously succeeds as Pam clearly is very annoyed when she repeats the line to Q in disgust... But hey, just a minor line. To each their own interpertation I guess!

Another thing most people probably won't agree on: I Like Patti Labelle's song over the end credits. It always gets me a warm satisfying feeling with a smile on my face! It kind of marks the end of an era for Bond as well, and this emotional song always kind of seems to perfectly close this era. If that makes sense...

All in all, being a different, violent, dark, crime-based revenge story works extremely well for me. Would I say it is also the best Bond movie in the franchise? Well, probably not. If I would have to introduce a first time Bond fan to the franchise I probably wouldn't show them this one at first... I think having watched some of the other Bond movies and being familiar with the normal formula will only show the brilliance of this movie!

So there you go, my personal favorite Bond movie!

What do you think of my oppinion and what is your own personal favorite?

I have only seen LTK once and if I'm honest have no great desire to watch it again soon, but I like your opinion

When ever I try to decide which is my favourite bond filmmy thought process goes something like this:

Well it has to be Casino Royale brilliant action scenes, great plot good cool performance from Craig, well shot ok it does not have everything, no gun barrell, Vesper Lynd is not that hot, But Goldfinger does it is the ultimate Bond Film, Connery in those great sixties suits, all the Iconic moments DB5, girl in Gold paint, Gert frobe's awesome performance, the Laser scene etc, so Goldfinger has to be the one, but I also like The Spy who loved me, a fantastic all round film and Barbara Bach, No it has to be The Spy who loved Me, Hang on a second though Diamonds are Forever has Plenty O'Toole, Wint and Kidd but its not the best but I do like it, that being said I do like Quantum of Solace, but the Experts think it is a terrible film, So it should be a Connery film as he is the archetypal Bond the one that started it all, so You only live twice then as that has Donald Pleasance as Blofeld and that wonderful sound track, but its not a great film, Thunderball Luciana Polazi alone makes this the greatest film ever made let alone Bond film, but it has its faults, Goldeneye is also a stand out film great PTS, and good start for Brosnan, ........

and so it goes on I just can't decide which one is my favourite

There are a few I don't get that enthusiastic about, Octopussy, Ether of Daltons films because I think they lack the production values of better films, FRWL, OHMSS, DAD, FYEO, TWINE.

Mine is OHMSS because of a number of things

!. The Plot: Another blackmail plot, simple to follow and keep up. The Bond/Tracy subplot is interesting as we see Bond thinking of leaving Mi6 to settle down and start a family. The ending to the subplot is tragic and it tests GL's acting chops.

    2. The locations: from stunning beaches to snowy mountains, this film has it all.

3.Lazenby: Quite a good performance from an inexperienced actor. The end scene really tests GL's acting abilities as previously mentioned. Bond speaking in an Australian accent when not impersonating Hilary Bray threw me on first viewings of the film however.

4.The stuntwork: the stuntwork is well choreographed. The bobsled fight is really thrilling.

5: the humour: The humour is enjoyable with the typical one-liners. GL tries his best to make those one-liners his own. Bond talking to a St Bernard was unexpected and it raised a chuckle.

A really enjoyable film from start to finish.

unlike most people my fave is moon Raker
why I really cant explain I get why people would hate it being over the top but I find it a nice difference it shows a different Bond, while I can agree the here's to us line is 100% not needed it was a bad line in the movie. but I think the main thing I like is Drax he is a very cold and sophisticated villain and I love it. but I also love the locations and the cinematography of this movie it is such beautiful scenery.
