If the franchise were to ever end...

How would you like James Bond to end for good? I personally would like to see James Bond retire for good and for them to perhaps destroy M.I.6. maybe bring in a famous bond girl (played by someone new) as like his final love interest and kill off M(but give her a good exist). And put Bond up against old favorites like Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Ditto!
Did you see Skyfall?
your wish for a more traditional Bond film may shortly
be fulfilled. :-)
is if we end up as a one world society as in star trek with no need for
spies ,different countries ,money ect ect but thats a very long way off 8-)
Wouldn't that be a sad thing for Bond?
He should be perpetually mid 30's, always keen on his next assignment, hopefully not so distraught at his personal affairs and more focused on the demands of the day. He should always drink and smoke, love women, live on the edge and survive to die another day.
The thought of a Bond film being advertised as "The Last Bond film ever!" is too heartbreaking. Also, imagine if the movie was rubbish!
I hope Bond outlives me to be honest!
And that is the way of icons. -{

Allow me to disagree with just about everything in your post:
1. "I personally would like to see James Bond retire for good." No, never!
2. "famous bond girl (played by someone new) " And this would somehow make sense?
3. "kill off M(but give her a good exist)" Already been done in Skyfall!
4. "And put Bond up against old favorites like Ernst Stavro Blofeld." Already been killed in FYEO thankfully.

Cubby was asked how long Bond will last. His answer:"Until doomsday."
Like diamonds, that means forever.
Bond will last as long as movies are still being made. So any speculation as to the extent of Bond's tenure always seems to be a conversation which goes nowhere fast.
"Q, have I ever let you down?"
"Frequently."

Always S you clearly are not a Trekkie!
Starfleet Intelligence, Section 31, The Tal Shiar, Klingon Inteligence, The Obsidian Order - espionage Bond style still exist the 24th century, just on a galactic scale!
To the topic question - stupid question in my opinion. Bond is a modern legend. As long as the writing and production remains good, long may the films continue!
Some of the suggestions above were used in Batman. Killed that legend for me. Damned shame.

to live on.
But I think it will, because Barbara Broccoli has an agenda. She will continue to take the heroism and the grace out of the character of James Bond. She will continue the deconstruction until nothing is left of him. She will use the next two Craig installments to gradually segue the franchise into a female heroine lead. If not the "Jane Bond" thing she pitched in the 1990s, then something like that. What form it takes remains to be seen. She is certainly not sentimental about James Bond and sees her ownership as a means to achieving her purely feminist agenda and financial ends.

Where in the world is that coming from? These comments provide a further example of why it is difficult to take you seriously. I mean no disrespect, but your comments here come across as the comments of a man who is insecure and who feels threatened by women. Surely you don't want to be perceived that way, do you?
I want him to be snipered at the end of a film (homage to OHMSS) while he's banging a lady like he usaully does. It should be a normal Bond adventure until the end when a red dot appears on Bond's naked chest and then WHAM!
Bullet noise, a girl screaming 'James!" and then the credits rolling with the Bond theme. Over 60's years of Bondmania destroyed in less than 30 seconds.
or...
Bond has a huge, epic adventure where he gets stabbed, faces an evil villian and comes so close to death that it's the best Bond film ever...The story should be contuined through about 3 films. Bond meets a girl in the first film and he also meets the villian, the second film is when the story is set in place and Bond must find the villain after he slipped through his fingers in the first film. In the third and final film is when he has his final fight with the villain and kills him. Also the Bond girl dies in the last movie. The audience has got to know this Bond girl through 3 films so its sad when she dies.
Bond then decides to retire after all he's gone through.
He buys a Bentley (his other car gets destroyed) and he slowly drives off down a countryside road while a slow rendition of the Bond theme (Sometimes a slow one appears in one or two Moore films) plays while he's driving to signal the end of a hero. The music fades and the simple words "Bond will not return" is all that is needed before the credits to make the most thoughtful, epic and best Bond film ever.
So which one do you prefer?
