Hi!
On IMDB the following is written:
"The sequence where James Bond beats an opponent at poker and wins the keys to his Aston Martin is not actually taken from the 'Casino Royale' novel but another Ian Fleming James Bond novel, 'Goldfinger'."
Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381061/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv
but after having read the novel without reading the scene i wonder if the scene is taken from another novel?
In case - which one?
Peter

There is no scene in any Fleming novel of Bond winning an Aston Martin, or any other car, at poker or any other card game. There are many scenes in the novels of his winning money at assorted card games.
Many of the web film sites seem to just pull "Facts" from nowhere. )
Luckily with forums like AJB007, there are a host of friendly experts
( I don't include myself, obviously ) who are full of knoweledge on all
things Bond.
The reviewer Might of got mixed up with Bond driving the Aston and crashing
to avoid Vesper on the road, In the novel Le Chiffre has a strip of spikes pulled
across the road to cause Bond to crash.
Then again he might of made it up. ) wouldn't be the first time.
