Radical changes in Bond movie likes/dislikes...?

"You must give me the name of your oculist" is what some of you might be asking me when I tell you my radical change: I really like DAD now.
No, really!
I've come to a point where a bit of nonsense here & there doesn't irritate me like it used to. Madonna's song, Madonna's cameo, the genetic & sci-fi OTT stuff, Jinx's nonsense, even the bad CGI doesn't bug me anymore. Because Pierce gets me through it. He gave his all to this character and to this movie. Like Mark Hamil did in Jedi (though I've always had far fewer issues with that movie).
Look, it's fast paced, has a killer sword fight, great music, Rosamund Pike, some hilarious lines... so yeah, the Moneypenny gag was stupid and I still have invisible car issues, but overall I had such a good time watching it recently that I realized had to change my rankings.
There was also a time when I regarded DAF as my favourite Bond... now I kind of like DAD a bit better than DAF.....
Anyone else here suddenly realize a change in their fondness or dislike of a particular Bond movie or two?

Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I predict I will like Licence to Kill a lot more than I do now, but it will probably a take a few more years...

This one will be controversial. I used to love DN. It was one of my favorite Bond films. But over the years, I've found that I like it less and less. One of the main reasons for the change is I really start disliking Bond around the time he heads for Crab Key. He comes across as a bit of a stupid jerk. I still like the movie overall, but not nearly as much as I used to.
On the other hand, I used to consider LALD and TMWTGG to be among the worst Bond films. I recently watched them again, and really enjoyed them, especially LALD. They aren't great films, but are very entertaining, and Moore is at his best. I prefer his portrayal of Bond in these two movies over TSWLM.

I disliked Goldeneye because Pierce Brosnan looked unkempt with his long hair; and because they stuffed around with the original Monty Norman Bond theme to something totally unrecognisable; and also because the made M a woman.
Now, however, Goldeneye is in my top 10. What bothered me about Goldeneye when I first saw it still bothers me, but not to the same extent. The story line is fantastic, and Judi Dench wasn't that bad as M ... at least, back then. Bond's scene with Q in this film was also memorable. "Don't touch that!" "Why? What is it?" "That's my lunch!"

That's what I like to here. Die Another Day is just an all out fun Bond Film which if you look past the bad CGI and cheesy lines is actually a good film overall.
For me I need to say that I have recently became very fond of Goldfinger again. When I was younger it was one of my favourite bonds of all but as time went by I watched it less and less. I found the 2nd half of the film pretty boring and thought that Bond just didn't have enough to do throughout the film. Now however I have realised that it is an absolute classic and the pinnacle of Connery's iconic bond, it's more fun that DN and FRWL and also seems to go by much quicker...never dragging on.
On the other side of thing I'm starting to feel that TSWLM is the most overrated Bond out there.
Once it gets to the Submarines and Stromberg's tanker I lose all interest
That's my favourite interpretation of James Bond you're trying to destroy right there
(let the 'mental' jokes begin!) 8-)

First of all, my opinion on OHMSS skyrocketed. In the past, I've hated everything about it, and I've written lengthy arguments on this forum defending this being my pick as the worst Bond movie, but watching it again for the umpteenth time, it was as if I suddenly realised what the fuss was all about. Maybe it has something to do with me getting older, and the movie being somewhat of an aquired taste, but I would now rank it among my favourite five without a doubt. Don't get me wrong though, Lazenby is still by far the worst Bond, and I'm happy he only made one movie, but I've come to accept him in the role to some extent.
The other movie I came to like was The World is Not Enough, much to my surprise. I used to consider it a sub-par installment in the series, mostly, I guess, because I haven't watched it too many times and the unfavourable opinions voiced against it probably made me a bit biased. I found the story compelling and much darker in tone than the other post-GE Brosnan movies, the villains complex and interesting, the action scenes supurb, and Brosnan's performance the best out of his four. There are some glaring shortcomings to it, such as Denise Richards even being cast, John Cleese as comic relief and some pandering to the movie going audience, but other than that, it's an outstanding entry and highly underrated in my conceited opinion.

Glad to hear of your new appreciation for these two Bond films. OHMSS has long been my favorite Bond movie, and I have always been a fan of TWINE for the exact reasons you mention.

The radical change for "like" would be TMWTGG. It typically bottom-surfed on my older lists, but Christopher Lee's Scaramanaga and Moore's comparatively cold demeanor plus virtually all of the island scenes really made this one much more enjoyable for me.
The radical change for dislike would be TWINE. The more I see it, the problematic it is to me. As we all hopefully remember, we were promised character development and a more three-dimensional Bond when GE was released. It was understandable that in the first film, they only dropped hints about Bond's past, although very definite ones that we hadn't seen before.
The problem was that GE was followed by TND. I actually don't have anything against TND (in fact, I like it quite a bit) other than its release timing. It was a return to Formulaic Bond with the only hint of Bond's past being explored being a failed relationship (admittedly, that was pretty nice to see that dynamic). You're then left with TWINE, which can't really decide if it's a formulaic or of it's trying to make itself into the promised character development film that it was supposed to be.
A much better solution would have been to switch the releases of TWINE and TND. Face it: you could make TND almost any time. One of its positives is that it's not a time-sensitive film. But TWINE? It was time sensitive in the sense that if they wanted to do a film focusing on Bond's character development (like they promised), then it had to come after GE. By the time TWINE came along, a lot of people were less interested in Bond's character development or alternately, TND's tone had distracted from it. TWINE's original script draft was reportedly both very long and explored a decent bit of Bond's past...but it was thought to be too long and they tried to rehash the "epic Bond" that was seen in GE. The result was that was we had a whole host of underdeveloped villains (Renard foremost among them, obviously, though Davidov would have made an interesting red herring given the obvious faith Renard had in him), Elektra King's present being covered too much and her past being covered too little (for example, the repeated references to her mother and her mother's oil were obviously meant to be significant, but they don't really come across that way other than Elektra just ranting/out of her mind), the supposed commentary on the B-T-C Pipeline lasting all of one pretty convoluted scene, and most importantly, other than an implied past with Dr. Molly Warmflash, we don't get much about Bond's past.
Don't get me wrong, I do very much like TWINE, but it's like they attempted to cram in a bunch of unnecessary things at the expense of some very necessary things. I guess it's open to debate regarding which things were and were not necessary, although I genuinely think if you wanted a very dark tone to the film, you could have omitted the Christmas Jones character altogether (regardless of whether Denise Richards would have played her or not, I thought she felt a bit shoehorned in...and by the way, if you do deem her necessary, can you at least give her a bit of background?).
TND is just a formularic Bond-film with nothing more to it, the film sinks when Bond does the Halo jump.
And well TWINE, the least said the better about that trainwreck.
But i can enjoy DAD immensly if i just have the mood to sit back and enjoy the ride. Because it is intended to be a larger than life romp with nothing more to it. And with that in mind i can find many redeeming elements. Brosnan does a better job as Bond than in TWINE, the villains is far better than TWINEs and the directing and the action is far more intresting and fun than in TWINE. So it is a quite good film after all!
Just kidding. I just like all of Broz's films is all. -{
