I completely understand what you are saying, and I agree. However Daniel Craig will always be remembered for the way the suits he wore fit on him.. At least from what I -to this day- keep reading on the media. The majority of the women fell for his suited looks in SF and that my dear friend brought him more fame, more sex appeal and them more box office tickets... Let's see what he wears in the new flick.. I am assuming figure hugging again, he has a great body but a slightly degenerating face...
There's nothing better than a woman's perspective when it comes to these things...
I'm finding that Skyfall's suits will be remembered like TSWLM's suits, a snapshot of their time.
Whereas Brosnan's and QOS's suits are more classic, and will better stand the test of time.
I personally admire all of Roger Moore's suits although many blast them. Same for Skyfall's. They remind me of DN's suits and although a little on the tight side, they look elegant, expensive and efficient nonetheless.

Any views on his suits LaVida ?
I thought he had better ones in QOS, I'm not a fan of the tighter fitting
In Skyfall.
See the creases in the front of the jacket where it buttons? That's because the jacket is too tight. The sleeves are wrinkled because the sleeves are too tight. The jacket's too short (that may be deliberate to make Craig look taller or maybe because it's the fashion). His pants need to be pressed and that low rise must be uncomfortable when seated (for long car trips, for example). The collar, shoulders, and chest are nicely done and the sleeves are the right length (unlike a lot of suits of the current fashion).
The suit is light years better than Craig's own suits, which are always two sizes too small.

I feel like the current fashion right now is to wear things too tight. Recently I've seen so many younger men wearing jeans so tight... that I'm surprised they haven't passed out from lack of circulation. )
While I liked DC in Skyfall, I couldn't help think constantly during the movie in the back of my mind, "If this were real life, Bond would be popping buttons, or bust a seam down his behind doing stunts like that... fashionably not functional." I just assumed his rugged look was to add to the storyline.
At the end of Skyfall we're given a reset of M and Moneypenny... I hope for 24 we go back to a more classic look like in CR.
The style right now is to be very tight -- and essentially the opposite of the classic suit lines . . . more narrow shoulders, less drape, higher to the waist. Except for the shoulders, my body was perfect for that style when I was in my 20s and 30s. Now, though, it's tougher to pull off. Craig is muscular enough that any suit fitting close to the body is not going to follow his lines unless it is more V-shaped than the suits are currently cut. So, he's going to get that pulled and creased look that makes it look too small.
Let's keep in mind that Bond of the films, though, has always been a fantasy figure. The idea of a super tall white guy being an international secret agent is ludicrous in the first place -- he would stick out like a sore thumb in 90 percent of the countries of the world. Give him blond hair and it's even worse. But a suit cut a little fuller for Craig would make more sense for his body type.

Like most I can live with the SF look, but prefer QoS's more classic cut. CR was good apart for the shirt collars that slightly overwhelmed DC's face ...
BUT on the topic of ill fitting, have a look at DC's tux at the Albert Hall Premier event ???
I think both Daniel & James are always well dressed , fashion & style & figure wise..
But then of course I am a woman , I focus on the overall look. However, I do agree with most of what you wrote..

From a females perspective LaVida, do you prefer Bond in suits/ formal wear.
Or the more casual outfits, such as the Cardigan outfit in shanghai or the
Country look at Skyfall lodge ?
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Danny you mean? Naked in the shower of course..
All kidding aside, I think the stylists nailed both suits and casual. Jeans do him justice by far..
The Tom Ford sharkskin grey suit you guys are complaining about is 2012 fashion for men. Tighter and shorter on the leg. If you follow men's fashion the length of the pants got very short during '13-'14 , with the finishing line right above the ankle.
He did look good in Shangai and yes I think Pea Coats suit him as well.

Interesting article on suit design in general and Brosnan's James Bond suits in particular.
Personally, I always felt that because Brosnan had the shoulders and chest of a nine-year-old girl (did he ever appear without his shirt on in any Bond film?) his suits should've had a lower button stance, higher gorge, more shoulder padding and wider lapels.
No no no. No free pass on this.
Did he take his shirt off in his Bond films? Well, either you've never seen them, or only once when they came out long ago and you tried to forget them. And in either case, slating Brosnan for his physique at that time is silly bash-O-matic behaviour.
But do have your fun. -{
I also believe any time Daniel is being photographed at present that he is deliberately wearing hats to hide that the he growing his hair longer for Bond 24 and that it will be more like it was in invasion.
Doubt it. He always wears hats, long hair or not. I think he was growing it out for the play he has been doing. Shooting for 24 doesnt start til December. Plenty of time to get it cut. We'll see if it changes before then.
Brosnan didn't have a shirt on in the sauna in GE or walking into the hotel
In DAD, or washing on the street in TND ................ )
I don't want to be argumentative )
But
He's not shirtless in the hotel in DAD, he's wearing a pajama top.
In the sauna scene he is topless but you see almost nothing of his chest (looking at it again I now realize how hard they worked at the editing so you wouldn't see his chest and shoulders).
... Not something I've ever had a problem with ! )
Although I have to admit, I've never noticed anything wrong with any of
The Bond actors's Bodies. -{ Sure they're not in my league ( not many
are ). But they all seemed in good shape for mortals. )

I would say that, on a good day, I most resembled Roger Moore when he was off his diet.
Oh please. It's obvious you guys hate Brosnan, don't work so hard at rationalizing it. )
Brosnan had a good slim look, No, not a muscle man & not fat. Most guys would LIKE to have his physique from TND.
Hmm, actually, I kind of do. 8-) Intentionally.

Don't be absurd. I don't "hate" Brosnan. I don't "hate" any of the Bond actors. Or any actors . . . wait a minute . . . no, I don't even hate Eric Bana. I really liked Remington Steele where Brosnan was perfect and many of his movies.
His Bond movies were disappointing but most of the problems were beyond his control. He did, however, fail to project physicality, which is an important component of the Bond character. I also got the feeling that he saw the Bond movies as just a paycheck, which I think he's more or less admitted.

No, no Brosnan hate there... )
You don't know if he ever took his shirt off, now you attribute stuff to him he never said... at least the fail concerning Pierce is consistent.
You know who really hates Pierce Brosnan as Bond? The guy who says this "Pierce Brosnan has dismissed his own run as James Bond "never good enough" and admitted he hates watching himself as 007."
And this: "I felt I was caught in a time warp between Roger [Moore] and Sean [Connery]," said Brosnan. "It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of, for me. The violence was never real, the brute force of the man was never palpable. It was quite tame, and the characterisation didn't have a follow-through of reality, it was surface. But then that might have had to do with my own insecurities in playing him as well."
Sounds like he was in it for a paycheck to me. But you keep defending the guy.
LaVida: Comparing the current Bond's look to that of his predecessor seems fair enough.
Chris and Gala: Perhaps it might be fairer to say that Brosnan was in it for security rather than saying paycheck given his family circumstances? An actor's TV series might be cancelled (as indeed his was) and a film might flop (as indeed some of his did) but a three-picture Bond contract is secure, well-paid, and leads to other offers.
I'm standing up for Brosnan here, he was fantastic as Bond imo. As much as I enjoy Craig in the role, whenever I long for some suave and cool I put in a Brosnan Blue ray...
As for the body, well, Brosnan was slim and trim, didn't look bad from what I remember.
Sure, he didn't convince as a muscle man like Craig does, but it's ok...Craig would look a little funny too smoking a cigar...
Brosnan's comments I think reflect an intense unhappiness with how his tenure ended, understandably. He can't possibly regret playing Bond considering how bad he wanted the role according to the history leading up to his getting the role.
Unfortunately, despite the massive amount of money DAD made, the people in charge made a decision and he became collateral damage.
