    He knew Jamaica well!
The scent smoke and sweat of a casino are nauseating at three in the morning. Then the soul-erosion produced by high gambling - a compost of greed and fear and nervous tension - becomes unbearable and the senses awake and revolt from it.

I suppose he takes something of a "holiday" in Skyfall... he takes part in everybody's favourite holiday activities: Scorpion shot drinking, Heineken advertising... :p

If your referring to the novel Bond, it would be Jamaica. It's obvious from reading the novels (he went there many times) that it was his favorite place. Not surprising, as it was Fleming's as well.

In the Benson Novels Bond even Buys a villa on Jamacia, which used to belong to a writer. :D

In MR (novel) he plans to go on holiday with Gala Brand, his plans are very much a traditional "Gran Tourismo" trough Europe centering on the "off the beaten track" of France. Also it is mentioned in OHMSS (novel) that Bond likes to visit every year during his holidays in the Royale les Eaux (if my memory serves me right). So, GT in continental Europe, mostly on the Mediterranean France is my bet.

Travel was a lot more limited in the 50s and 60s when the novels were written, so touring through France would have been quite exotic and beyond the means of most people.

And as a young man, from what i recall, he would have spent some winter holidays skiing, summer holidays swimming and diving.. And didn't he also dabble on the edges of the motor-racing world?

This is quite correct, also if you consider that law about annual vacation was introduced to England in the '20s and was bumped up to 2 weeks somewhere around the mid '50s (working class and employed professionals mind you, monetarily independent need not apply), having long enough holiday to putter about coneur. must have still been a bit of a rarity.

Ithink the original question of mine might have been slightly diluted on my part
we have lots of answers as too where he has been ect and thank you all for suppling me with that info
I think what I should have asked was If Bond walks into his local branch of Hayes and Jarvis
where would he book ,and for the sake of time lines and other historical differences if we use the current Bond DC
for equality sake ,where do you think he would go for his 2 weeks off can be summer or winter
I think Bond would go to one of the Italian lakes Como/Garda at least he could take his car
