Most suspenseful Bond film?

Here's why:

John Barry's score is the foundation for everything this movie has to offer. With that in mind, I hope everyone can understand it when I say that the climax is one of the greatest of any Bond films.

Walken's menacing performance mixed with terrific models and stunning visuals is the product for a great sequence. What's more suspenseful than seeing Bond dangling over San Francisco Bay with a madman at the wheel of an airship with the accompaniment of JB's score?

Not just the climax, but the entire film is suspenseful. Moore's old age IMO gives me a worry that maybe Bond has indeed met his match. Zorin poses a serious threat to Bond and to everyone against him. To accompany the madman is May Day, who might even be more terrifying. The PTS is a solid Bond opening and leads us into a grear title track that'll set the mood for scenes to follow.

    Strange, AVTAK came to my mind as well. Barry's main action song from this film is very intense, especially when they are on the Golden Gate Bridge.

    Licence to Kill is pretty suspenseful for me too. The dark elements add suspense for me. Also when TD is playing a double agent as cover to get in with Sanchez, I was always on edge of my seat thinking when will Sanchez find out. When they are in the factory and you see Bond's dilemma as Del Toro is in the same room with him. Ahhh!

    I agree 100% Moose! It was between the two. Other mentions for me would be FRWL and TMWTGG, Scaramanga posing one of the biggest threats of all!

    OHMSS. The scenes with Bond trying to escape from the wheelhouse onto the cable car are, to me, the most standout suspense scenes of the entire series. Equally Bond escaping and then trying to hide on the ice rink are great. And when he finally finds a phone box, and Frau Bunt and the henchmen shoot it up, you realise Bond can't escape so easily or warn London, just adding to the suspense.

    Plus Savalas as Blofeld is probably the most menacing villain ever, there's no trace of panto about him at all, and you really feel Lazenby as Bond has met his match.

    Savalas is my favorite Blofeld for that reason!

    I always thought Moonraker was the most suspenseful for me for a lot of reasons. We see Bond being pushed out of a plane without a parachute in the PTS. It's really edge of your seat stuff as we know that if Bond misses the pilot, he falls to his death. The fight between Bond and the pilot is really thrilling.

    AVTAK is good, the book of OHMSS is better in terms of suspense imo. FRWL is a slow burner and frankly LTK is another contender, as we wonder how Sanchez will react when he finds Bond is not as he seems.

    I thought Skyfall was pretty suspenseful, especially towards the end. TWINE as well more so when Bond is strapped to the torture chair and the scenes right after that.

    I agree that OP is rather suspenseful (for a Moore film). And remember - I'm not "anti-Moore". It's simply this - I am a fan of all Bond films and among the Bonds, Moore is my least favorite. And out of all of Moore's Bond films, AVTAK is my least favorite. Now, where were we?
