    The baby was given the name George, assuming the little boy does ascend the throne one day, would he have to be King George VII (?), or can he take another name?

    I would imagine that he will in all likelihood be King George VII as you suggest, but he would be free to take another name if he wished. King George VI was born Albert but took the name George when he ascended the throne instead of Albert. However, he was not born - and therefore not named - to be King, that was King Edward VIII, so the situation was different. There are rumours that Charles plans to take the name George when he is crowned, although now that his grandson is George I think that's probably unlikely if it ever was anything other than a rumour. So in short, in 50+ years time it will probably be King George VII...but it could conceivably be King James Bond. :007)

    Are there names that a king may not want to take? I imagine Henry or Arthur would not be favorites...too much history I guess..
