How do you watch yours?

Given that Sky have had the 007 Chanel of the last month, I've watched quite a lot of Bond.
My partner, who's not a bg fan, came in from work the other evening & even before saying hiya, she states "really! again? You were watching this one the other day" she then said " you watch Bond films like its the first time you've seen it"
She's probably right, I enjoy them all, really for what they are & my imagination.
Anyone else i the same boat? Regardless of how many times you've seen them, you can still watch them as new?

Tell me, does the toppling of American missiles really compensate for having no hands?

I'm exactly the same as you. My mrs thinks I'm borderline OCD when it comes to watching Bond over & over again. Tbh I probably am, but would never let her know that!
As far as I'm aware it's a sort of 'temporary season'. Pretty sure they'll take them off for a while & then introduce the odd one back again in amongst some of the movie channels. By Christmas there will be a dedicated channel again I'm sure.

The sky007 channel comes and goes and is pretty much always on in the background.
I also have several saved on my sky plus box including the last ever showing of QoS from itv just before sky got the rights!
All the movies are in my iTunes as well so I watch them on the iPad in bed, on planes, trains and even in the car! Oops, naughty don't tell anyone!
As other fans have said, friends and family seem to think I am a bit odd but I would rather watch a couple of Bonds than anything that TV has to offer!

Ohhhh...sounds like an offer to me
I do live alone though.
)
watch the whole film but my favourite highlights. Although I have made a point
of watching them all from the Blu-ray collection to compare the quality with the DVD
series.
Would like films to be shown on London screens rather than BFI Southbank, which never feels like a cinema. Prince Charles cinema would be ideal, but any movie theatre really.
OHMSS at Xmas, obv.

When I do watch them, it's via BluRay, on my 63" plasma with 5.1 surround so that I get the most cinematic impact and the original filmmakers' vision. I make a point of avoiding them on commercial TV as I do not like all the cuts, crops, commercials and other alterations made to the films.

The offer was not for you, Sir Miles!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
What plasma is that, Tony DP? I sometimes like the ads, I personally enjoy FRWL more for them, and don't mind having some films like TB trimmed down a bit.
Some LCD screens allow you to darken the blacks a bit these days don't they?

I have a Samsung 3D plasma that I bought back in 2010. Ironically, 3D TVs typically also give the best 2D image because of the high refresh rates and phosphor decay rates that are necessary for good a 3D image.
Current LCDs do have great black levels, especially if you get one with an LED backlight. The only problem with a lot of them is a phenomenon known as "clouding" where, when viewing a dark image, certain areas of the screen appear to be brighter than others. This is most prevalent on TVs that only control dimming from the edges of the screen (called edge dimming LEDs); better models have more dimming zones throughout the panel (these are called local dimming LEDs).
Then you have OLED TVs which offer even sharper images and inkier black levels and some manufacturers are now making curved screens to further immerse you into the movie.
Still, when it comes to just watching a movie in 2D (especially a classic catalog title) there is something about the warmth and saturation of the colors on a plasma that none of the other technologies can match for me; it comes the closest to replicating a film experience and it is my preferred TV for movies. It is also typically free of clouding and other image issues that can still pop up on LCDs.
As for watching the movies on commercial TV, here in the USA they still typically cut scenes out for length and crop the image to fit the screen. I also find the commercial breaks (and obnoxiously large channel logos at the bottom of the screen) distracting.
