Back in May, someone (dasser) resurrected an old thread about my Thunderball Wreck Dive asking about the watch that Major Anthony Nelson wears in a Jeannie episode called Indispensable Jeannie (1968). I had actually, at the time, recently re-watched that episode with my children and was familiar with what "dasser" was talking about.

Anyway, I believe the watch uses a "pinwheel" movement, or more precisely a "pin lever escapement". They were a relatively inexpensive movement that superseded the cheap quartz movements that almost killed the mechanical watch industry in the 1970's. Not a terribly fancy watch, but interesting nevertheless.

I have never seen this in the wild. Someone over at MWR suggested that these may have been handed out in small numbers, presumably to people who were connected to the making of Thunderball or to people who had access.
